Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with excellent retention recedes leaving thick sheets to mound surface. Sweet chocolate, soy and earthy coffee aromas. Medium bodied with smoky chocolate upfront turning to maple in the middle before a lasting hot mocha finish.

Bourbon leads again with some alcohol notes and somewhat boozy. Dark burnt, toasted brown, chocolate and caramel malts. Some vanilla oak feel is nice from the barrels. Brown sugar and maple influence. Overall quite sweet.

375mL from La Bodega. $14. Clear deep brown pour, looking black in the glass. Larger carbonation, medium coffee foam with large formation. Tepid pour required. Wispy lacing. Nose is excellent coffee creme brulee, awesomely decadent and spot on dark dessert flavors. Souffle, truffle, cake. Taste is lighter than expected, not boozy or sticky, and not ashy or soy saucy like a lot of darker Mikkeller offerings. Carbonation is higher on the palate providing buoyancy with some richer dark chocolate. Maple blends in well, not really a main flavor. Overall approachable and easy to enjoy. 10% abv is completely absent. Feels like 6.5%.

Dark black in color with thick tan head... Maple syrup, coffee, malty aroma... Flavor is oak, vanilla, roasted malts and coffee, mouthfeel is syrupy, lots of maple character... Delicious ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, bought @ Mikkeller and Friends, Cph. Pours deep black with a large, creamy beige head. Kinda big-bubbled. Aroma has plenty coffee, chocolate, vinious, tar. Medium carbonation, very creamy and nice dry mouthfeel. Flavour has coffee, lots of maple syrup, roasted, vinious, nutty. Quite elegant dry and bitter finish. Nice.

Bottle shared by dudeabide. Poured black color with a large frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate roasted chocolate malt, coffee and maple aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark roasted sweet flavor with medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid complex beer.

375ml bottle, shared by dudeabide. Very dark brown / red clear color. Near black. Thin khaki head. Bits of lace. Very nice dark chocolate aroma. Very bitter taste, light sweet finish. Great maple syrup aroma. Bigger body, smooth, crisp soft lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Awesome stuff.

375 ml bottle to taster (shared by dudeabide). Looks good; a dark cola with beige head that dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; dark malt, chocolate, coffee, and maple syrup. Tastes like it smells, but not as robust. Average on the palate. Good, not great.
