Boozy, sour fruit smell, beautiful mocca brown head, taste is coffee bean, kind of a tart taste mixed with a bitter chocolate, hint of molasses, this is a very complex beer!Very good beer! I would like to have it aged a little longer and a little more coffee taste, but this is a winner. Nice burn with the 10%.

Bottle. Black with a creamy tan head. Beautiful earthy chocolate, drip coffee, molasses, pine, and oak and taste with a dry, tannic, vanilla, and burnt grain finish. Bright, silky, and slick oily palate. Very good.

Advent beer #17 (I have yet to figure out the order of these beers): 375ml bottle - Nose seems to be milk chocolate along with roasted coffee. Very well done. Intense dark chocolate bitterness but somehow mellow. I’m literally sinking into my chair and relaxing.

duft: karamelmalt. en meget underlig tung duft som jeg ikke kan beskrive, ellers sød, svag kaffe toner, smag: brød, brændt malt, sødme, en smule kikse smag, meget sødme i øllet. stor og tung øl

Bottled. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, roasted malt, maple syrup. The flavor is sweet with roasted malt, syrup, alcohol and coffee, leading to a dry roasted finish.

375ml bottle, shared by dudeabide. Very dark brown / red clear color. Near black. Thin khaki head. Bits of lace. Very nice dark chocolate aroma. Very bitter taste, light sweet finish. Great maple syrup aroma. Bigger body, smooth, crisp soft lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Awesome stuff.

375 ml bottle to snifter. Pours black with a huge, soft, pillowy head that fades normally and leaves some lacing. Strong and complex aroma of maple, vanilla, coffee beans, coconut, chocolate, burnt oak, and cola. Taste starts moderately sweet with lots of barrel character, maple syrup, and chocolate cake. Middle is strong bitter coffee and cola. Finishes with burnt oak, booze and coffee beans. Love this beer. Only downside is the thin body, but it’s a porter so I expected it. Mouthfeel is oily and a little creamy. Great beer, I’ve been liking a lot of Mikkeller lately. Wish the bottles were cheaper though.

SlackerMads (3433) - DENMARK - FEB 4, 2014
Bottle. Pitch black with a large good lasting and lacing creamy light brown head. Chocolate, cocoa and light alcohol in the nose. Same notes in the aroma with some roasted malt, very light coffee and wooden notes. Close to full body, medium sweet and bitter, soft/medium carbonation, creamy texture. Warming finish with lingering cocoa notes. Very pleasant, goes down quite easy and doesn’t feel to heavy or sweet though it is a big beer.
