Bottle shared by dudeabide. Poured black color with a large frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate roasted chocolate malt, coffee and maple aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark roasted sweet flavor with medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid complex beer.

Bottle. Black body with a nice beige head. Aroma of caramel, oak, roasted malt. Taste of fresh roasted coffeee beans, toffee, vanilla, smoke. High viscosity, and a nice staying sweetness through the vanilla and coffee aftertaste. Very nice!

Bottle purchased October 2013, bitter and syrupy, without much sweetness, medium disappearing head.

NBird (626) - Perth, West Australia, AUSTRALIA - AUG 25, 2013
Black pour with a sml light tan head. Smells.. Darn roasted fruits and chocolate, maybe some coffee hints and some of the maple barrel. Tastes..sweet roasted fruits, a little of dark choc and the maple syrup...quite a dry finish, definitely syrup!

375 ml bottle to taster (shared by dudeabide). Looks good; a dark cola with beige head that dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; dark malt, chocolate, coffee, and maple syrup. Tastes like it smells, but not as robust. Average on the palate. Good, not great.

Ed5388 (3488) - Forked River, New Jersey, USA - NOV 28, 2013
375ml bottle from craftshack. Cost and bottle both split with Bob F. Pours a thin dark brown/almost black color with a finger of foamy tan head. Fizzy carbonation. Aroma is really boozy, chocolate, hazelnut, maple syrup, and roasted coffee. Taste of rich bitter coffee, hazelnut, chocolate, burnt toast, and lots of booziness! Was expecting a lot more from this, but was still good.

AdamChandler (5182) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 21, 2014
Pitch black frothy espresso head. Insanely coffee forward nose. Like very raw bean like. Taste. Less maple than I expected. Loaded with coffee but kind of cheap grocery store coffee. Lots of booze. Maple is almost nonexistent. Charcoal and candy corns.

Ataraxia (582) - California, USA - FEB 12, 2014
Black, opaque, dense cappuccino froth. Malt chocolate, hints of maple syrup, sweetened coffee, and toffee. Quite sweet, but not in a heavy or viscous manner, followed with a lighter woody twang. Creamy but disappointingly thinner than expected, and well carbonated. Finish is a little dry, bitter, and mildly boozy.

3.6
Christian (13859) - Odense, DENMARK - NOV 30, 2013
Odense Beer & Ball Saturday - Real Madrid vs. Valladolid. Black with a big tan head. Aroma of chocolate, licorice and something quite unusual, a maple syrup, vanilla, orange and dried fruit combo. Sweetish roasted flavour with a bit raw alcohol, licorice, citrus and a hint of ash. Tasting a bit young/raw?
