Big magnum bottle, supplied by Mr. Smith. The pour’s deep rusty red with a massive off white head. It was a real work out pouring this heavy bottle, even for a jacked bro such as myself. The nose is marzipan, toasted nut. Pecan pie. Red berry fruit leather. Ribbon candy sweetness. The taste is more rich berry. Big toffee malt profile. Hints of tart sweetness in the finish. Pretty mellow for 10%. Full body, fine carbonation. Overall, pretty good. Scopey (15475) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 15, 2013
Bottle shared by Leighton at his and Jack’s birthday celebrations. It pours deep mahogany brown with a thick beige head. The nose is varnish, pine, resin, sweet fruit, brown bread, baked goods and some spice. The taste is wood, leather, varnish, nice bitterness, resinous, earth, caramel and dried fruit with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty tasty stuff. A fitting celebratory beverage. teorn88 (7687) - Rimini, ITALY - APR 14, 2013
Bottle shared by Leighton at CPK, London. Happy birthday! It pours hazy dark amber in color with a long-lasting beige white head. Sweet fruity aroma of peaches, figs and raisin. Taste is quite sweet, a tad syrupy, with caramel and dried fruit notes. Some citrusy hops somewhere as well. Sticky mouthfeel with good carbonation. Need some people to share this big boy. jkwalking05 (4743) - Arlington, Texas, USA - FEB 28, 2013

Aroma has toffee, caramel, some fruity hops and biscuits. Flavour has hops, some resin, caramel, pineapples and apricot. Nice, I like the hop profile here.
Ah the benefits of slow moving stock. Heavy, boozy (10% ABV notwithstanding) with fruit cake and spice. Well put together despite the ’massiveness’. ej (1330) - Hauglandshella, NORWAY - NOV 14, 2012
Bottle no:265/1300 Deep amber with a slightly tan head. Tonnes of wood and caramel, some oxidation but not in a bad way. Loads of dates and raisins. Taste is sweet at first, giving way to a solid bitter finish. Lots of dates and raisins also here, and some medicinal hints from the oxidation. Full bodied and well carbonated. @ Mikkeller Bar: Doften är mycket het och smaken känns som en barleywine, stor men len fruktighet. Gott gyllenbock (9711) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 5, 2012
Bottle at Mikkeller Bar, November 2012.
Hazy brownish with a fairly large fluffy white head. This was sweet one with toffee, malt, yeast, dried fruit and notes of spices. Not bad but quite a heavy one to share with two other maniacs.

Bottle, shared with a bunch of people at Bergen Ølfestival afterparty at my place, including Yngwie, Beer3000, Palme and the rest of Bergen Beer Geek Tasting Crew. :-) Pours a hazy red-hued brown body with a small white head. Aroma is syrupy malt tones, hints of wood, raisins, alcohol and tobacco (snuff?). Taste is red bitter berries, licorice, nuts, pine, dry wooden tones and hints of paint thinner and alcohol. Full body, medium carbonation. Complex and very, very nice.
