Smell: very complex, both appealing and slightly disturbing. Old wood, dry fruit, musty yeast, alcohol, spicy hops, citrus fruit, brown sugar.
Mouthfeel: creamy, full, no noticeable carbonation.
Taste: Ridiculously unique, starts flat, then sweetish caramel, with a hop background, then intensely bitter and musty. Orange peel, burnt caramel, herbs.
Finish: Very very long, bitter like a pain killer pill, and extra dry.
Overall: Love it! Extremely complex. It’s like a double IPA combined with a belgian strong ale. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - APR 10, 2012
Pours amber in color with a tall white head. A strong hoppiness to the aroma which is quite heavy on the herbal and pine qualities. Nice citrus peel notes to it as well. Though the hops are the dominant characteristic, plenty of toffee and caramel maltiness. The flavor has a good caramel sweetness to it, but still features a lot of piney bitterness. Some herbal hop notes along with citrus/grapefruit peel, which also add to the bitterness. Marsiblursi (3076) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 22, 2012
(Bottle) Pours dark reddish brown with a small sand coloured head. The aroma is heavily “green” hoppy with notes of pink grapefruit, black currant tea, pineapples, apricot and some pine. Sweet-ish, caramelly backdrop. Bit floral. The flavour is medium sweet and medium bitter with a numbing, super mega heavy afterbitterness. Grapefruity, resinous, inky, tropical fruity and caramelly. The mouthfeel is soft, round and sticky with a light carbonation. Resinous, inky and bitter grapefruity finish. 5h lingering bitterness. Medium to full bodied. abemorsten (3615) - Mosterøy, NORWAY - FEB 24, 2012
1500 ml bottle (no 667 of 1300) kindly shared by gunnar. Hazy red orange with a three finger thick, creamy, light brown head. Malty, dried apricots and sultanas, hoppy and light wooden notes on the nose. Heavy malt sweetness and heavy bitterness. Resin and toasted notes. Light fruity and light salty. Full body. Syrupy. Smooth to drink and a dry tongue. Quite a lot left in the bottle. Had this a week later and enjoyed it a lot then as well. gunnar (9096) - Sandnes, NORWAY - FEB 12, 2012
Shared bottle no: 667 at local tasting. Pours cloudy dark amber with a huge frothy tanned head.Aroma of fruity hops, pine and resiny as well, and lots of malty sweetness, caramel. Taste is strong malty sweetness with plenty of fuity hops for balancing. Ends with a dry bitter bite, fruity and mints. This bottle had been standing in my cellar for almost 3 years, very good.

Bottle nr 166/1300 @ RBBWG thanks to 77ships. Brown coloured beer with a medium brown head and some average carbonation. Fruity sweet malty and hoppy hinted aroma. Full palate. Finish is slightlty hoppy citrussy and slightly malty hinted. Not bad. 77ships (9828) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - FEB 5, 2012
1500 ml. bottle sampled @ RBWG 2012 – personal contribution – bottle nr. 166/1300 – obviously 2009 vintage – dark brown amber with red hue & huge beige head – smell is dark fruits, earthly with fruity hops / pine / exotic fruits – dark fruits, bitter, dark malts coupled with some vintage flavours already beging to creep in, still quite a lot of hop in here, dark fruits blend with pine, fruits, touch exotic fruits, citrus, caramel, spices – still got some life in it but appears like it should have been tasted fresh, ok but not overly impressive, body has a slight vintage feel to it same goes for carbo tderoeck (9735) - Gent, BELGIUM - JAN 16, 2012

Little cloudy, reddish brown beer, aery irregular head, yellowish, bit stable, very adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very fruity, pineapple, stinky feet, cheesy, sweet touch. MF: good carbon, full body. Taste: fruity, passion fruit, piny, bitter resin, citrus touches, sweet malts too. Aftertaste: very bitter and dry.
1.5L magnum @ RBBWG 2012, Antwerpen courtesy of 77ships.

Massive Mikkeller pt.2 Another bottle provided by an ever generous trader in CA, you rock dude. This one was past it’s prime sadly. Carbonation was a little dead, as was the flavor. You could tell it was something special when it was fresh but not today.
