01.05.2014, 1,5l bottle (#1057/1170) sampled @ Mikkeller HQ:
Big light brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly oxidized fruity, caramel malts, citrus peel, old hops, butterscotch, sour-ish coffee, old leafs, dark fruits. Taste is slightly sour-ish dry, dark malts, sour coffee, burnt caramel, butterscotch, cocoa, old leafs, hops, dark sugar, paper. Medium bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Fair enough, probably a little over the top by now.

Bottle (magnum) shared at tasting. Thanks to mathieuc for sharing it! Dark brown, almost black, with a medium brown head, good retention, leaving some lacing. Flavors are pretty nice for a 5+ years old Imperial Porter with roasted malts, vanilla, ashes (which I don’t always like, but here it fits the profile), a bit of alcohol, herbs, some spiciness and grapey-like fruitiness. Taste is moderately sweet with some bitterness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Mouthfeel is a bit creamy. Roasty finish. Flavorful Imperial Porter that held up pretty nicely.

Magnum shared at a tasting. Pours a good black with a small beige head that leaves some lacing. Nose is of alcohol, grapes and roast/chocolate. Taste is of roast and slight dark fruits. Lightly boozy but not that much. Moderate body and carbonation. Cool one, I have been curious to have it 2-3 years ago but it is showing almost no signs of its age right now!
