My Bottom Line :
Caramelized and roasted malts are licked by alcohol and coniferous hops in this balanced and healthy Imperial Porter.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A creamy sheet of foam covers the brown-hued darkness.
-The hop flavors make this feel like a Black IPA at times.
-Blackberry angles add complexity.
-The mouthfeel is not too heavy, but it is definitely rich.
-Molasses allusions are created by the union of caramelized and roasted malts.
-This is not much of a surprise. Mikkeller making yet another very nice strong dark brew?

Magnum.

Bottle nr 290/1170. Big thanks to yespr for that one. Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass deep black, huge head. Dry-malty aroma. Starts strong and malty, a bit woody and dry. More and more alcoholic-warming, well balanced, with notes of bitter chocolate. A great beer!

Magnum bottle, shared by Rodenbach99 and Slovaksniper at Iceland super tasting. Nice black pour with lots of frothy off white head. Tons of chocolate in the aroma, a slight yeasty character is present, along with lots of roasty danish stout notes. Taste: Quite bitter, lots of hops and roasted grain. Palate: Heavy bodied with good carbonation make this strong porter quite enjoyable.

bottle courtesy of Anker, thank you! Took this big boy camping with myself and two others, great times! consumed straight from the bottle, but it looks to have a nice size spongey head. its a solid, roasty imperial porter, lots of dark dried stone fruit, tobacco and tar, but the body is only medium as opposed to very thick and syrupy. this definitely makes the beer more enjoyable in larger quantities like this. we all wanted more when this one was gone!

Looks lovely and dark, small head. Sweet roasty aroma promises good things. However, once in the mouth it’s a bit of a let-down, as it just blends into the full-bodied porter family without enough distinguishing factors. So it’s good, but unexceptional. Like a good US porter. Almost seems watery compared to the Messy we just had. Does at least have a nice long roasty finish with pleasant bitter hops.
