Clear dark brown black color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, hard roasted, dark chocolate, light burnt, moderate hoppy, dry hops, light alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet and light heavy bitter with a long to average duration, roasted, dry coffee, dry dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. 
1.5 L bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is smooth dark malty and roasted. Sweet caramelish and dark malty, hardroasted and slight acidic. Yeasty fruity note. Pitch black coloured with a medium sized beige head.
Roasted aroma of liquorice and caramel with notes of dark chocolate.
Roasted flavour of liquorice, dark chocolate and hops.
Dry roasted finish.
Bottle. Pours a black color with a small brown head. Has a roasted malty chocolate and licorice aroma with hoppy hints. Roasted malty bitter chocolate and licorice flavor with hints of dark fruit and hoppy bitter hints. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish with bitter hoppy aftertaste.

BeerFest2010. Deep brownish amber colour, small head. Aroma is caramel, bready malts, some raisins and mild alcohol. Flavour is raisins, wood, some dry wood as well as some mild roasted notes. Rather balanced.

6th June 2010. RBESG 10 Grand Tasting at the Brasserie 4:20 warehouse. Black beer, light tan head. Light soft palate. Rich dark malt, slightly roasty and spicy and with some licorice. Bottle 150 cl. Pours an opaque black with an off-white head. Hard roasted malt in the nose with quite some alcohol up there too. Surprisingly light-bodied, hard roasted malt and a little burned coffee accents. Some malt bitterness. 080510
