This Bock from Mikkeller is called Frelser. Means Savior in Danish. The name is a subtle reference to all Bocks Mother: Salvator. Originally the monks brewed Salvator because they needed a very strong and rich beer during Lent. Do not drink this beer instead of a meal, it contains 11% alcohol.

Draught at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Dark brown, minimal head. Sweet and full bodied with clean syruåy mouthfeel. Dense and caramelly, a bit edgy and sticky. Low bitterness. Too much power, feels aggressive and rough.

On tap at Craft Beer. Dark brown opaque beer with a short lived tan head. Rich toffee caramel malt. Trace of marmite like yeast. Sweeter malt in the undertone. Mild coffee bitterness. Finishes semi dry. A rich and tasty beer and much better than the bottle.
