Brune. Alcool. Chaleur d’alcool. Caramel. crème brûlé. Fruité. Framboise. Sirop d’érable. Grain grillé. Banane. Bonbon. Menthe. Très amère. Sèche en finale. Toffee. Tire ste-catherine. Exceptionnellement délicieux. Hammy78 (973) - Dundas, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 25, 2011
Draught at "The Blue Monk" Mikkeller takes over. Pour is pitch black, tan head that is not very thick. Lacing hangs like a clumpy sheet on the walls of the glass. Smells so sweet and caramelized malt. Taste is incredibly sweet like molasses. Maybe a little woodiness as well. This was off charts of good flavor. I’m so glad I got to experience it on draught. pour is near black with a big ol head of grey that lasts. doubt i’ll get through this tonight. been going for 17 hours and i can see the end of the line. at least i’ll a have a breakfast beer. this is not a beer, it is a syrup, thick goodness. smells of roast, maple, a bit of smoke(could be the 4 mile fire, but i think it is the beer.) and watermelon. damn this is tasty. nice roast and sweet balance. caramel notes all over without being too sweet. some vanilla and a great warming alcohol throughout. peanut finish that has a lot of a lot of honey flavors, like a candy i used to love as a kid. bit-o-honey in beer form. good times. beermagnet (2) - Quebec, CANADA - APR 21, 2012 does not count

0.75l bottle from LCBO. Pours an opaque brown, fine beige head. No visible carbonation. Aroma: Very strong muscatel notes. Also hints of orange, caramel, ginger, and some soy sauce. Palate: Full bodied. Thick, smooth. Clean finish. Taste: Fairly sweet. Slightly bitter in the finish. Wonderful beer. Jesterdeal (1985) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - MAY 25, 2012
Wow! What a beer. Aroma of brown sugar, glazed figs, and heaven. Pours bock brown with great lacing. Great viscosity. Taste is rich with sugar, fig and slight rhubarb. Amazing beer. Grzesiek79 (4274) - Radom, POLAND - MAY 1, 2016
Piwo pięknie pachnące wisniowka, czerwonym winem i leśnymi owocami. W smaku sliwka wegierka, trochę nut cherry, alkohol obecny ale szlachetny, rozgrzewający i o długim finiszu. Karmel czekolada i wanillia. Troche zbyt słodkawe ale ogolnie wielka przyjemność z degustacji tego degustacyjnego piwa. drpimento (3572) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 1, 2016
Excellent doppelbock! Aroma is roasty malty toffee caramel. Flavor is like nose, more bitter than sweet, has a long bittersweet finish, great carbonation. Not something to drink fast and a good beer to share. spacecube (1705) - Leeds, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - APR 8, 2012
Pours a deep dark brown, large head reduces to a thin lacing, aroma of forest fruits with a bit of alcohol. Tastes of roast fruits, pine , a bit of banana, some grapefruit and some alcohol. Very nice balance and does not feel 11% abv.
