Bottle, 375ml. An unclear one, dark golden in color and with a small, light beige head on top. Lightly alcoholic aroma with a nice vinous touch. Some faint funky hints, with a pleasant hoppy scent. Grass and citrus. Vinous, hoppy flavor with some sourness. Some alcohol warmth, full body and quite dry on the palate. Lasting finish with pale malt notes, grassy, peppery hops, lemon peel and pine cones. The first two sips were rather boring or disappointing, but it turns out to be a really, really nice and quenching beer. 130420

marcus (10975) - Sacramento, California, USA - APR 14, 2013
Bottle from City Beer. Pours cloudy amber with a craggy beige head and a fruity aroma. There is a sour fruit flavor with a huge yeast presence that leaves a tart sensation on the palate.

toffeeslot (119) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - APR 12, 2013
Pours very thin - small head disapearing fast. Aroma is of sour milk, hops, a hint of alcohol. Bret yeast is dominant. Taste is sour, with apples and other soft fruits. Not much alcohol warmth. Refreshing.

haukur (2143) - Kópavogur, ICELAND - APR 7, 2013
light brown colour, somewhat reminiscing of how Orval looks without the head. Fruity aroma of grapes, apples, some sourdough, barnyard and dust. Very oaky and bretty, some complex layers of flavours from the chardonnay barrel. Some raisins. Incredibly enjoyable to drink.

Bittle shared with staff at Paradiso Georgetown. Hazy golden amber color. Aroma of sourdough bread with an emphasis on the sour. Taste is softer, rising rye bread dough, soft funk, lemon peel, light spice, hint of white grape must, some dust. Very nice.

330ml bottle (Pudel Baar, Tallinn)
Lovely light fruity aroma, packed full of white grapes. Brett and sourness quite prominant, but well integrated with the fruits. Lovely orange, but only a brief head, then nothing. Slightly yeasty retronasals, a little earthy. Very mellow malts, soft sweetness, gentle fruitiness, less so than the aroma. Less acidic and funky than the aroma too. Absolutelt no hint of alcohol at all, it’s hard to believe this is anywhere near 9.3%. Finish drops back onto a lovely dry earthy bitterness. Very nice, clean and invigorating, and very well crafted. Does seem to get a little flatter in the mouth as you drink it. The carbonation’s low, and the acidity from the sourness doesn’t quite act as a substitute. Alas, this is more expensive than Cantillon Gueuze is in Helsinki, and I know which one I prefer.

3.2
Marduk (8830) - Reval, ESTONIA - MAR 25, 2013
330ml bottle. Hazy, raspberry red color. No head, but none expected. Sour, vinegar, horse, leather in aroma. Leather, raspberry, yeast, vinegar in flavor. As it warms up flavors mellow up.
