UPDATED: DEC 17, 2013 Bottle via trade - thanks Alen! Super thick dense oily dark pour with a reddish brown head. Slick thick smooth palate. Chocolate, cognac, slight wood, soy, and some boozy sweet heat in this. This is just awesome!

I could enjoy this beer all night long.. Great and strong aroma, beautiful dark appearance, strong and fantastic taste! Palate is in balance and overall amazing Imperial Stout. Price is too heavy and availability is not so good :-)

Pours jet black. I mean JET. It looks like black paint. No head whatsoever. Some aromas of chocolate and soy. Not really getting the cognac. The taste is sweet and roasty with a slight alcohol heat. No carbonation at all.

This has to be my favorite beer of all times. WOW! Although im not a cognac fan and cognac is very present, this smells and tastes very very good. All the Goerge! series are good, but this one is just breathtaking!

Bottle (250 ml). Thanks to czar for helping me to get this bottle! Pitch black with a medium diminishing creamy/oily dark (!) brown head and little lacing. Aroma is of cognac, roasted malt, toffee, chocolate, oak, smoke and dried fruits. Taste is moderately sweet and moderately to heavily boozy with cognac, chocolate, roasted malt, toffee, wood and dark fruits. Warming alcohol. Sticky cognac. Full bodied. Low to moderate carbonation. Thick and oily/syrupy mouthfeel. This is definitely a sipper and it’s a good thing that it comes in 250 ml bottles, more than that would be too much for me. Really complex. Too boozy and hot for my liking. Barrel treatment isn’t subtle. Still a good BA RIS.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with excellent retention recedes leaving trailing lacing. Sweet mocha, oak and mild smoke aromas. Thick with chocolate and hot oak front to back and into the lasting cognac finish.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours motor oil black with a dark red glint around the edge, no head. Tiny, dark khaki lacing. Nose has espresso, chocolate, bourbon sweetness with lingering cognac notes and dark fruits. Taste is upfront chocolate, hints of soy, mocha, roasted malts and molasses. Booze is concealed really well, with a nice plum and port aftertaste. Light bitterness with a lot of flavour still sitting on the tongue. Brilliant brew.

A- pours a heavy deep black with mahogany edges. Head is thin with a rich tan hue and faint lacing. S- grains, molasses, woody must, smoked bacon, brown sugar, raisin oatmeal cookies, stinging alcohol and rich chocolate. M- sticky and slightly tangy bold palate with a good body and medium carbonation. T- brown sugar, molasses, and tangy cacao to begin. Burnt caramel, smoke, simple toasted malts, oak, vanilla and figs. Ending is mostly tangy alcohol bitterness and chocolate that finishes with a sharp and blunt bite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Bottle, 0.25 l, from Drink Shop, Tallinn, 20130724) The beer poured oily and black. Its head was small, dense and light brown. Aroma had wood, chocolate, roasted malts, hint of vanilla and a little bit of coffee. Palate was full bodied and oily with lowish carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, smoke, wood, cognac and bitterness. Aftertaste was woody, roasty and bitter. A nice complex beer. I haven’t tasted the plain George! so I cannot compare it with this one. Here the strong flavours mixed together in a way that I enjoyed drinking this.
