UPDATED: FEB 20, 2015 250 ml bottle @ home. Pours oily black with some light brown lacing on top. Texture is really thick with minimal carb. Aroma is soy sauce, coffee and malts. Taste is chocolate, malts and coffee. Warming alcohol finish.

25 cl bottle. I think from 2013. Pours pitch black in color with barely a thin tan colored film at the head and looking like used motor oil. The aroma shows big notes of dark chocolate, dark fruits, cherries, roasted malts, old oak, vanilla, and cognac. The alcohol is very well hidden. The flavor follows suit with notes of dark chocolate, roasted malts, dark fruits, and vanilla to go with cognac soaked oak. Medium bodied and oily slick with no carbonation to speak of that leads to a dark chocolate and dark fruits on the finish. This one is starting to oxidize and go down hill but still drinking really nice. This would have been really good a year or more ago. Glad I got to try it.

Bottle. Pitch Black. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, cacao, dark fruits, liquorice, light soy, some snus-tobacco and Wooden and alcoholic notes. Dusty and Complex but balanced. Starts heavy sweet but finish heavy bitter with lingering roasted notes. Full and creamy. A great one...

Bottle. Thanks Guruhso. It pours jet black with a creamy dark beige head. The aroma is heavy roasted with overripe fruit and cocoa. Quite woody overall. Soy, licorice and pouch tobacco. The flavour is pouch tobacco, wood, deep roasted malts, cocoa, coffee, overripe fruit and light soy. Super complex and stil a gem after cellaring.

anstei (2743) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - NOV 10, 2017
Bottle. Pours black with a dark brown head, but almost none of it. Aroma is cognac, grape skin, caramel, dried dark fruit. Body is heavy and sweet, also bitter, boozy and strong but almost flat. Lots of wood, but not so much else. A bit one-dimensional.

SinH4 (6562) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - NOV 10, 2017
Bottle. Dark brown color with no head. Aroma is aromatic booze, grape skin, chocolate, dark fruits. Taste is the same. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Interesting, but a bit too boozy and woody, and despite the fullness of the wood, kinda empty.

Biroholik (1644) - Sosnowiec, Poland, POLAND - OCT 6, 2017
Alkohol: 12,12% obj.
Butelka: 250 ml
Kolor: Czarny, nieprzejrzysty.
Delikatna dymna wędzonka i dym z ogniska. Nie brakuje nut toffi, karmelu i ciemnego chleba. Przez chwilę powiało lekkim sosem sojowym. Jest także gorzka czekolada i kapka wiśni. Gęsta, oleista tekstura. Niskie wysycenie i ładne zamaskowanie procentów. Odczucie w ustach raz półsłodkie, a chwilami nawet półwytrawne od cierpkich owoców. Nie jest to mój ulubieniec z serii, ale mimo wszystko warty był swojej ceny.
Wysycenie: Niskie.
Podsumowanie:
Interesujący Imperial Stout z mocno wyczuwalną beczką po Cognac'u. Silna owocowa strona trunku z akcentami wędzonych śliwek, wiśni, jabłek i gruszek. Pełny profil wspierają posmaki karmelu, toffi, gorzkiej czekolady i brązowego cukru. Minimalna wanilii jako wisienka na torcie. Zgrabne ukrycie alkoholu i gęsta tekstura. Solidna pozycja!

Bottled. 25cl sample. The aroma has cognac, chocolate, wine, fruits, roast. Black coloured beer with a thin head. The taste is light bitter and has coffee roast, cognac, molasses, red fruit. Medium-full bodied beer. Nice.
