0,25l bottle as gift from Denmark. Opaque, black color with medium, creamy, dark brown head, which disappears quickly. Sweet, alcoholly odor followed by roasty, smoked malt flavours. The aroma is incredibly smoky and roasty. At the beginning it’s sweet and caramelly, but after the firs impressions it’s dry and tastes like a roast pork. It’s definitelly made with a lot of smoked malt, which causes this meet flavour. It must had a lot of chocolate malt too which makes the color so black, but it doesn’t make the beer sour and bitter. Alcohol and honey flavours also appears. Dry, intensive and complex taste, nothing can dominate, but all the three basic flavours (sweet, sour, bitter) appears. Full bodied with oily texture and light carbonation. Roast pork finish. It’s an interesting beer. Surprisingly complex, incredibly oily and full bodied. This beer is dominated by the malty flavours, and from this view it’s the opposite of the Mikkeller Black Hole, which is a "hoppy imperial stout". It’s a concentrated beer, 25cl is totally enough. The alcohol content isn’t too high, and it can’t be felt as dominant in the aroma. The texture, the body, and the malty flavours make this beer this rich and concentrated.

Bottle in the old livin' room.
Pours very black with a big tan head & good lacing on the glass.

The aroma is big & sweet, chocolaty & a touch hoppy. Bold, a touch fruity with a touch of licorice.

Man the flavor is huge, roasty & sweet with lots of dark fruit & citrus hop flavor. Some Cavendish, dark chocolate, fig, & almost like a tannic woody character. Not overwhelmingly boozy for what it is, but it isn't without alcohol heat.

Thick on the palate with a long finish

Smoky-roasty nose, with raisin and orange-peel notes emerging as it breathes. A touch of cloves. Sweet, with a backbone of bitterness and some sour notes. Wonderful heavy oily body. Lingering finish fading to a subtle soreness. A wonderful imperial stout, perfectly melding the bitter, sweet, and sour flavors.

650ml bottle from Premier Gourmet. Shared with bananabi11. Excited to get to try! Black pour, Brown head leaving some lace. Big caramel, chocolate, fruits, molasses, espresso. Thick and rich, fairly smooth. The nose is fruitier, taste smoother with more espresso/molasses. Light phenol in the nose, but many other aromas. Full bodied with an alcohol presence. The blend is solid/good. Finishes fairly sweet. Very solid tasty complex brew. 14.8

Bottle @home. Pours black, opaque, thin tan head. Nose is wow, so complex, sweet at first, then a slight balsamic edge, coffee is huge also chocolate, its also quite fruity and licorice, slight tobacco. Taste is more of the same big coffee and chocolate, some coconut, licorice. It pours like engine oil but drinks like nectar.

Czarne, nieprzejrzyste. Piana brązowa, jest jej mało, szybko znika, lacing zerowy. W aromacie ciemne owoce, czekolada, kakao, kawa. W smaku orzechy, gorzka czekolada, kawa, trochę kakao, trochę wyczuwalnego alkoholu. Wysycenie średnie, goryczka niska, posmak orzechowy, kawowy.

Inky black hue with a thin light tan head. Lovely cocoa and dark roast lightly sweet nose. Gentle caramel kisses. Big roasty flavor that’s dark and gently chocolaty, bittersweet and full of raw cocoa, light tobacco, and a dark roasty full, yet smooth finish. Complex as.

tightslice (1436) - Redwood City, California, USA - JUN 9, 2017
Bottle from Willow’s Market in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is smoky bacon, bacon candy, beef jerky molasses, coffee, sweet dark fruit syrup. Taste is sweet and smoky up front with meats and caramalized dark fruit...then some vanilla and chalky finish. Booze really well hidden but very carbonated / bready and a bit too disjointed in flavors.
