Cloudy orange/brown color in the Mikkeller tulip. Big light tan head. Creamy and slow to fade, with lacing galore left behind. Big bouquet of hops and a malty aroma mixing in the nose. A little citrusy, piney and flowery. Huge alcohol presence in the taste. Mixed in with a barleywine type of maltiness. Presence of hops, but not overly so. More malty and dry, but a sweet - almost cloying sweet - dryness. Very light mouthfeel for as much malt is present in the taste. It’s like a dry, light, barleywine. Not too shabby. thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 19, 2011
(11.2oz bottle thanks to bu11zeye) clearish orange with a lasting tan head. Nose of big citrus, mildly dank, and orange. Taste of candied oranges, very bitter with an excellent matching sweet backbone, and herbal. Medium thick body with nice creaminess and linger. A bit astringent, but one of the better IPAs I can recall out of Denmark. 77ships (9828) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 16, 2011

: appearance red/amber with an off-white/beige head, aroma has lots of grapefruit hops, some slight sorachi ace as well as plenty of earthly hops & pine, floral, taste is floral, lots slightly soapy grapefruit hops, very strong earthy hops, very bitter with a slight fruity (peach) taste, slight cheese, herbal, aftertaste is very lasting pine bitterness, unfortunately a bit watery
What a fantastic IPA. This is finally a European IPA that competes with the best in America. Aroma is a tad lacking with notes of citrus, malts, and grass. Taste is wonderfully balanced with nice bitterness and mellow sweetness and a crisp dry finish. Jade (435) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 16, 2011
Hazy amber gold with a creamy biege head. Honey and fruit aroma, with hints of something that make me think it will be bitter. Very bitter fruit taste, really hangs around the back of the throat. Great drop.

sweetih grassy aroma. Dark orange pour. great complex flavors. Grassy citrus flavors. The finish just continues into more citrus and floral flavors. Fuck yea mikell! jookos (6821) - FINLAND - SEP 15, 2011
Green grass, raw hop aroma. Probably the strongest fresh, hop-resin, smelling beer I’ve tasted. citrusy, a bit of resin. Very bitter, the hops pretty much overpowering any hints of malts in the taste (or wait, there’s actually something .. a bit of caramel, probably due to the, I assume, long boil). This fruit/malt ratio makes me actually think of a Belgian beer [edit: appears it is brewed in Belgium!]. Somewhat hot, alcohol coming through. This could probably rinse your palate of any food, no matter how greasy, leaving you thinking you’ve lived on hops all week. Newk (299) - - SEP 14, 2011
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2012 pours a nice dark gold/copper color with a nice head to it.
citrus based nose with some copper tones, caramel, navel oranges, and some sort of oxidative tones.
full bodied with a real good feel. Some hoppy tones along with tones of caramel, oranges and copper.
this is okay. There is an oxidative flavor that I couldn’t really get over. A solid IPA but not much more. bigrobman (20) - Knox-Vegas, Tennessee, USA - SEP 13, 2011
toasty warm green with a grassy flavor that comes from hoppy goodness.leather, earthy, floral, medium body, with an enjoyable light bitter on the finish. Grima (2394) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - SEP 13, 2011
The beer in the glass is amber colored with a soapy head that disappears quickly. Mild hoppy, spicy, slightly sweet smell. Starts with a very fruity hop aroma, relatively sweet and caramelly in the background. The middle part shows caramelly, slightly sweet, with lots of citrussy aroma hops! The finish also aroma hoppy with citrussy and caramel bonds. Absolutely horny and very drinkable IPA!
