Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

gramity (1638) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 8, 2011
Pours a hazy copper with a billowing off white head with super heavy lacing. Pine hops with a balance of caramel maltiness and a touch of lemon. Fairly resinous pine hops kicks it off, rounds out much like the nose with caramel sweetness and bitter orange peel, finishes a bit peppery and dry with high bitterness. Lively carbonation but smooth nonetheless. Very good IPA.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2015 2015-04-22. Hazy dark amber body, nice foamy beige head and lace. 3+ Aroma of green hops and caramel malt. Flavour is fairly bitter throughout, with a good amount of malt in the core. Caramel and toffee notes. Lingering bitter green hops in the finish. Average plus to medium bodied palate, modest carbonation. The hops don’t really shine past the malty core for me. Possibly showing some age? 6/3/7/3/14+ Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto.

2011-08-10. Hazy dark orange amber body, small beige head. 3+ Flavour is pleasant, nice melange of hops, muted sweet citrus. Bitterness grows in the finish, nice sweet malt undercurrent. Kiss of caramel notes, modest alcohol. 7+ Mild alcohol in the aroma as well, resiny hops, green notes. 7+ Smooth average plus to medium bodied palate. 3+ Pretty nice! 8/3/7/3/16 - 3.7 Mikkeller IPA Tasting at Cole’s, Buffalo

pint at Tyler’s Apex. good aroma, bitter sweet, citrusy pine scents. Clean brownish orange color, no head or lace. Bitter flavor. Medium body, oily creamy mouthfeel. bitter finish. good, though I guess in the scheme of things I’m not a fan of the hops they choose to use, seems to be signature, so maybe it’s a yeast thing I dunno, but this impressed me more than my last Mikkeller

Pours a swampy orangey-brown with mountains of lingering foamy head. Looks like some belgian trappist deal. Aroma is amazing - big citrus, fruity hops. This packs a serious flavour punch - sweet caramel malts tied to an intense, lingering bitterness. Alcohol shows itself maybe more than I’d like but it does add to the intensity. Thick, almost syrupy mouthfeel.

Murky brown pour, big beige head, very sticky lacing. Aroma is a hoppunch to the face. Soapy, resinous, and some good chewy malts. Flavor is pungent and the bitterness is quite strong, but it fades quickly to a light citrus sweetness.

joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - AUG 22, 2011
Pours dark orange almost amber with a huge orangy/khaki mountainous head. The aroma has some fruity peach and grapefruit along with some grassiness and a but of skunk. Perhaps this is a bit lightstruck or old. The flavor is smooth and rich with lots of sweet tropical fruit and some spicy hops. Low carbonation. This tastes a bit old, but still flavorful with a nice complex hoppiness and full body. I would love to try a fresh bottle.
