To survive merciless Finnish winter one needs at least three things: proper dose of antidepressant, twisted mind and shitloads of good beer. Herra Huurteinen (Mr. Frost) is an expert of all these things and is willing to teach you! The 2nd child resulting from the passionate relationship between Mikkeller of Copenhagen and Pikkulintu of Helsinki is a charmingly traditional, clean and seducing Altbier that brings out the memories of good old winters when we still had to wear skis, not sneakers. Down with CO2, up with C2H5OH! Enjoy in moderation (unlike most Finns would like to do it).

Bottled (thanks TBone!). Copper colour, mediumsized fluffy slightly off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some eartg and wood as well as mild nuttyness. Flavour is quite much the same along with some fruityness as well as mild spicyness.

omhper (25948) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAR 2, 2010
Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Lightly hazy amber, creamy head. Floral nose with some aniseed. Minerally, dry and fruity. Medium bodied with clean mouthfeel. Has some of the pleasant aromas and initial flavours from a real altbier, but the malt profile is hard and edgy. Salty bitter finish.

Hazy amber color. Strange aroma, caramel and beans, some vegetables. Dry caramel flavor, with some vegetables; correct bitterness. Not very good.

harrisoni (19534) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - NOV 2, 2009
Bottle at De Molen Fest Oct 2009. Clear darkish gold colour. It’s an ok slightly dark lager. Not in the same way as something like Uerige in the style, but extremely drinkable and a decent attempt at the Alt style. Would happily sink a few of these because as I say it is very drinkable, but on the Ratebeer hedonistic scale I guess the ratings may not be as high as some other Mikkeller beers.
