COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At Mikkeller, we are firm in our belief that the best ideas from the brightest minds can be found among the ranks of the home-brewers. That is why we continue to nurture the innovative guys (so far only guys, come on ladies!) that make up the backbone of the big, bad home-brewing beer scene.
The 2011 Hop Bomb Challenge winner is Søren Davids – winning the title two years in a row! Our Swedish brothers followed up strongly, with Sea-goat Brewing coming in second and Christian Kapusta third.
A big thanks to all of you who went through the trouble of brewing and submitting a Hop Bomb. We at Mikkeller appreciate the amount of love (and hops) that goes into every one of your home-brews.
Brewed as collaboration between Søren Davids and Mikkeller.

Ingredienser: Vand, malt, (Pale, Munich, Caramunich, Wheat), humle (Simcoe, Centennial, Athanum) og gær.

Hop bomb for sure, another great Mikkeller beer, pours a hazy almost red color, nose is fruity, grapefruit, lots going on. Great smooth beer for an ipa, everything is suttle but still there. Great Beer.

Pours hazy orange with low head. Aroma is fruits, hops and some yeast. Flavor is fruits, hops and dry palate. Swell!

Bottle from Theatre of Wine, Greenwich. Amber pour with a white head. Good heavens! I’m a fair way away from the glass and that aroma is just floating out. Very nice nose. Peach, tropical fruit, lychee. ’Andsome! Powerhouse of hops in the flavour. Bitter citrus explosion on the palate. Heavy hop finish. Good stuff!

[0.5 bottle, server: beer glass] Appearance: charming amber, a bit more red though. Thick white foam. Looks very tasty. Aroma: already the aroma "informs" that this one will be with hops and some great bitterness. Taste: Not quite a bomb, but the after taste really turns into bitter hops, even if the taste is not so bitter with the first sips. But with each next one, the beer tastes even better and better. Very "rich" taste, and very nice aftertaste. Plus, I guess the price/performance for this beer is really "curvy". I took this one yesterday in "S. Brevinga Alus Salons", just for fun, and to try out something new, and I was(am) very satisfied.

Bottle, bought @ Kihoskh, Cph.
Murky yellowish amber with a medium, firm, creamy, white head. Good duration. Aroma has citrus, doughy malts, fresh floral and resiny. Medium carbonation, small bubbles. Nice full and creamy feel. Flavour is elegantly malty sweet with resiny notes. Then turns full-on bitter with floral, piney and light fruity notes. Long, lingering bitterness.
