Bottle. Pours hazy and cloudy burnt orange to amber with a large, frothy and bubbly off-white to light beige head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is cardboard oxidation, pine and herbal hops, toast and light cookie malt. Flavor is oxidized and stale hops, medium bitterness, supporting malt and a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. ryecatcher (1467) - Bridgeport, Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 10, 2013
Bottle from a Binny’s mixed 4-pack of Mikkller’s ’Single Hop’series’. Figured I’d start with this one. Pours orangey, cloudy (my fault as it was in the trunk overnight when it was about 2 degrees here in Chicago), nice off-white head with good retention and nice lacing, a whole bunch of floaties though. Nose is floral (smells a lot like the all the old microbrews that were out before the hop revolution started bringing all the new strains with various flavor profiles in). Hop forward (and hop afterward), grapefruit and wildflowers, decent hoppy bitterness and a soapy finish, however almost no malt detectable, . Drinkable but not very balanced... which would be cooler had this been a Galaxy varietal seeing as that’s my favorite type o’ hops. Fredis23 (568) - Hickory Hills, Illinois, USA - NOV 30, 2013
I was looking forward to Trying Mikkeler, since it gets so many praises of being good and innovative brewer. I was excited to find It’s Hop Series at a reasonable price. Unfortunately my anticipation and excitement was not matched by high standards that everyone praises Mikkeller to live by. Everyone in supply chain is to blame… Mikkeller does not have production dates, Distributor Trying to sell the product no matter what, Binny’s not having balls to stand up to its supplier and let them know that it is out of date and no good. I was pissed… All of them were old and stale, therefore complete waste of time and money. Every time I come across bad batch I swear to stop buying anything that has no dates… I just might do that, since there are plenty of other choices… Going Back to Mikkeller Hop Series… All of them Poured A Shade Lighter Or A Shade Darker of Muddy Brown. All of them Had Smaller or Larger Floaters. Huge Head, Decent Lacing. Earthy, Stale Hops Aroma. Tasted pretty much the same: Earthy, Malt, Stale Hops. Moderate Bitter Finish… Pass It Unless You Know It Is Fresh… CPH2200 (349) - DENMARK - OCT 19, 2013

Bottle - Pefumy, grapefruit and a spicy pine. Cloudy orange with a great beige head. Lots of pine, like drinking a pine cone. Fresh and nicely balanced for a single hop. Great fun. Gorm (1899) - Sandnes, NORWAY - SEP 27, 2013

Bottle from Vino Wines. Murky amber body with a huge off-white head. Lots of sticky lacing. Mild aroma of lime, pine and caramel. Flavour is similar - sharp citrus, pine, faint yeast and biscuit. Well balanced flavour, but not particularly powerful. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation. I had this after the Simcoe - this paled in comparison (but it’s still very nice).
