COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

On tap at Frisco: Pours a clear deep orange amber with a well-lacing clingy froth of off-white head. Has a fresh floral soft lemon citrus nose with mild sweetness. Starts with decent fullness and finely dissolved carbonation with clear crisp citrus flavor and light peppery bitterness with a touch of oxidization before a smooth bittersweet finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear and light copper beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is malt and hops with citrus, peach and passion fruit. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is bitterness. Overall an average beer.

Bottle. 12 oz. Split with and courtesy of Vinnie. Pours a glowing, vibrant orange with a bright white fluff ball head. Aroma of grape soda, piney resin, fresh cut grass, and some funk grapefruit notes in the back. Medium bodied, perhaps even thin, with a slick, resinous, juicy palate. Very interesting; cloying, but not in a bad way. The finish leaves a slightly warming, slightly bittering grape sweetness upon the tongue that dissolves very slowly. Great IPA.

Pours amber orange color with a white foam head. Has an aroma of caramel, hop spice, and earthiness. Has a sweet taste with a resiny hop hit. Definitely sticky and dank.

Bottle. A clear one, dark golden in color and with a dense, off-white fingerthick head. Lacings. Citrus peel and resins on the nose, not much maltyness. Some catpee hints and peaches. A faint note of alcohol too. Pleasant bitterness, with citrus peel, peaches and a touch of resins. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated. Lasting bitterness in the end. A really nice one, tasteful and pleasant. 110908

Bottle; Pour is murky dark golden with a nice off white head that retains fairly well in this glass - sticky lacing is present here as well. The nose I think is the highlight for me - a nice resinous piney hop profile coupled with nice citrus and lemon notes and a bit of caramel - The flavor profile seemed a touch underwhelming on this one - I was expecting more considering the hop in question - Its a fairly nice brew , either way.

Sampled on 9/2/2011. This India Pale ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 33cl bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is malt, cereal, fruity, sweet, and melon. A medium bodied India Pale Ale. The malts are cereal, fruity and sweet. The hops are floral, citrusy, grapefruity and melonish. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Lots of bitterness, which seems to hang around and not leave. Definitely has that Citra hop character. Touch of sweetness at the finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
