COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Hazy amber beer, little off white head. Semi dry and crispy palate. Creamy malt. Bitterish orange with a trace of grapefruit. Semi dry finish. An oddly muted Citra beer - lacking the fruit intensity you normally find in Citra beers. Still good though!

Bottled at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm. Hazy pale amber, creamy head. Restrained citric tangerine aroma. Mid sweet with bedium bodied , clean, rounded mouthfeel. Plenty of piney tangerine, notes of marzipan. Long bitterness. Somewhat surprisingly less aromatic than the Amarillo.

Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 4, 2011
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours deep golden with some impurities and a lacing off-white head. Very fresh citrusy hops. Medium body, quite some sweet fruit and caramel. Very citrusy and grapefruitish accents leaving a dry and very bitter finish. This just confirms that Citra is a great hop. Nice. 040511

Bottle at home, from Cotteridge Wines, 14/07/13 - storming of some such or other south of the channel day. Hazed orange amber with a big white head that thins but retains to an aesthetically pleasing level - this beer ladies and gents looks the bollocks! Nose is floral hops, orange peel, caramel, citrus. Taste comprises juicy hops, bitter orange, light grapefrtui, sugars, light tropical fruit sundae, melon, caramel, toasted malts. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, subtle hop bitterness in the finish. Nice - I’ve always liked Citra and was hoping this one would stand out as one of the best in the series from Mikkeller - it didn’t disappoint!
