COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

DocLock (11221) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 20, 2011
Bottle from State Line. Pours hazy copper with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is caramel malt and that great citric, slightly funky, slightly Simcoey. Citra is my new favorite hop by a long shot, and has been since Troeg’s Citra. This beer is outstanding, and I’ll be horizontally sampling it with Two Hearted soon.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2014 Aroma: hopsy citrus Appearance: golden brown Taste: - medium sweet, heavy bitter, heavy sour and UMAMI! Texture: slick and lively. Finish: bitter and long My favourite hops=CITRA!

4.3
Marthinus (276) - DENMARK - AUG 17, 2011
Pours amber y with an longing foamy head and a citrus aroma. Citrus is coming nicely from "inside" the beer, not as an added component. Heavy hoppy bitterness

PhillyCraft (8311) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 30, 2012
Bottle. Pours a hazy caramel orange shade with three finger thick head. Lacing is soapy, thick, and resilient. Aroma of grape flavored cotton candy, skunky citra, grapefruit. Taste was oily hops, resinous pine, marshmallow, and toasty bread malt. Complex and layered beer, kept the palate salivating for another sip. So far this is the best of the single hops for me.

shorlin (736) - St. John’s, Newfoundland, CANADA - SEP 5, 2014
Muddy looking, blood orange colour. Particulates. Solid head. Aroma is kind if earthy, malty. Hops are a bit caramel, orange. Taste is very bright, citrusy, bitter full taste. So delicious! Feel is medium full, lingering. Long deep finish. Really good.
