COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Herbal, floral, citrus, woody. Nice cloudy deep gold colour. Good, mild carbonation. More bitter than sweet with a short, sweet finish.

Draft at chaps. Pours hazy deep amber with a medium sized off white head. The aroma is on the malty side but has a good bit of floral and light citrus. The taste has a nutty, medium bitterness, almost British inspired?

rumproasts (5342) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - SEP 30, 2015
bottle. Amber with one finger head. I’ve had a lot of beers from this series by now, and this is certainly well past its prime, but I couldn’t pass it by when I saw it in a bargain bin. Substantial malt base with a lot of caramel sweetness. Hops have some cardboard at this point, but still quite drinkable. Again, not one of my favorites from this series.

Huhzubendah (3705) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 2, 2015
Dark copper body, mild haze, half inch of tan head. Earthy, malty, herbal, grassy aroma. Malt forward. Ok flavor, but certainly not fresh. Please put a date on beers meant to be consumed fresh.

4.2
CanCrusher (1067) - Ilirska Bistrica, SLOVENIA - FEB 21, 2015
Bottle 0,33L Hazy, dark copper colour with large, frothy, off-white, long lasting head. Very hoppy fruity aroma, also honey, plum jam and alcohol note. Teoretical IBU is 94, but so is practical, I think. Taste starts heavy bitter and finish harsh bitter with long lasting aftertaste. Medium body, dry texture, lively carbonation.

3.8
SinH4 (4719) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - NOV 28, 2014
As goes for all the Hop Series beers I’ve tasted: the bottles were probably quite old, best before of April/May 2015, so some of the hop characteristics might have already gone away. Nice orange color with big head (darkness varied a bit). Sweet! Good sweet fruits in the taste. Very easily drinkable. Dangerous. Max’ favourite.

MarkoNm (2704) - Novo mesto, SLOVENIA - NOV 26, 2014
Pours a slightly hazy coppery color, topped with plentiful beige colored head that stays for a long time. Slightly fruity, some decent caramel notes and quite hoppy, but stinky. Taste starts more on the sweet side, followed by some herbal bitterness. Quite lasting aftertaste. Not bad, but not that nice either.
