COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

jmohno (1618) - Iowa, USA - NOV 27, 2011
Dark gold pour, creamy head small, lacing, flaoties. Belgian like aroma, light sour, belgian candy-vanilla,very mild tropical notes,Mostly yeasty though coming off as a pastry like cantalope aroma. Med-light body, taste is mild mellow light citrus refined hop flavor some vanilla/ light tart sour tones, fairly smooth clean very subtle spice. Clean mellow citrus finish a little tart, sour, pastry sweeet. Overall pretty mild and subtle in terms of taste.Pretty low bittering. Seems like belgian yeast unless this hop is giving this ,but is claimed an american ipa. Also the sour tones/vanilla make it seem wood aged or bourbon barrel or something.Maybe slightly infected?

marcus (10222) - Sacramento, California, USA - NOV 25, 2011
Bottle from City Beer. Pours cloudy copper with a huge beige head and a citrus aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with a disappointing lack of hop bitterness. The Mt. Hood did not complement this brew, although it is still quite drinkable.

GJF (1520) - Mount Vernon, Iowa, USA - NOV 23, 2011
A straightahead IPA. It’s well made and tasty--with a dry, quite bitter finish--but still not one of the best of their single hops. Not as distinctive as some, but still good.

ClubGonzo (5670) - Bergen, NORWAY - NOV 6, 2011
Bottle from Kihoskh, Copenhagen. Pours a dark hazy orange body with a small white head. Nose is light fruity peachy tones with hints of almond and pine. Taste is wet leaves, red berries and hints of cough syrup and pale malts. Very smooth and inoffensive. Slightly bitter grassy aftertaste. Nice.

wlajwl (6803) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - OCT 24, 2011
Mild hoppy and slightly effervescent aroma. The flavor has a dry hop bite to it but seems to missing the big hoppiness it should have. Decent, not great.
