COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

JorisPPattyn (10061) - BELGIUM - AUG 15, 2011
Part of a fourth flight of four out of nineteen4 days test. Rather huge, dense yellow head over clear amber-copper beer, big bubbled. Cheesy hops, hint at seaweed; cakey malt background. Again bit cheesy, green and autumn leaves in the background, finishing earthy-bitter. No brusque tastechanges however, good balance. Medium bodied, rather well-carbonated, bit slick. Aftertaste is rather discreet. I thought of Nugget as a typical bittering hop. This proves it’s worth more than just that.

TheBeerGod (6244) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - AUG 13, 2011
Bottle. Copper colored with a tall, fluffy tan head. Aroma is hoppy with earthy notes, soft floral notes, tea and caramel. Taste is floral and earthy hops, caramel, sweet malt, light toffee, tea, and fruit notes. Body is medium with a creamy carbonation. Finishes like it began - floral and earthy hops, big caramel and tea, sweet malt, and fruit notes.

ClubGonzo (5685) - Bergen, NORWAY - AUG 12, 2011
Bottle from Kihoskh, Copenhagen, shared with Palme and friends. Pours the seemingly default (good) look of Mikkeller Hop Series: a slightly hazy orange body with a medium off-white head. Nose is licorice, herbs, grass and hints of pine. Smooth and mellow, but a bit too weak for a high score. The same goes for taste: licorice, pine and hints of fresh grass, albeit too faint for my liking. Nice, but a bit too neutral all in all.
