This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Hazy darkish amber beer. Good off white head. Softish dry palate. Nice creamy malt. The Nugget hops deliver plenty of tangy bitterness but not a lot of fruit. Trace of aniseed. Finishes dry. Not my favourite hop.

Mild tangerine, a little caramel aroma. Hazy amber, floaties , medium head. Stale hops, orange peel. Maybe lemongrass.

RG 19. Bottle. Orangey with thin head and light lacing. Smells a little peachy to me. Sweet and bitter. Round mouthfeel moderate bitter finish.

Bottle from State Line, shared at the 19th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering. Pours a clear amber color with a large frothy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of floral, citrus hops, caramel malts. The taste is earthy, resin, pine, citrus hops, caramel malts. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness.

Bottle courtesy bu11zeye. Pours a clear orange color with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is maple, light leaf and soil notes. Flavor is caramel notes, brown sugar, and sweet notes. Meh a little underwhelming

Orange pour with a thin off white head. Aroma is malty with some sweet citrus and grass. Taste is pine, orange, mango, and caramel. Nice bitterness. Dry finish. Enjoyable.

mstockton (225) - Frankfurt, GERMANY - NOV 21, 2012
Pours a dark amber with a decent head. Aroma has some typical IPA-hop smell to it, but with some sour-like odor. Taste is decidedly malty for an IPA and a bit smoky. A sticky feel after the swallow and a bit of a funky aftertaste. Not my favorite IPA from these guys but fun to try the different hops.

Yorker (2032) - Holstebro, DENMARK - NOV 14, 2012
33 cl bottle @ home. Pours golden amber with a tiny bit of sediment and a white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit as well as some caramel malt. Flavour is caramel, citrus, and grapefruit – with a dry finish.

BelgBeerGeek (1307) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - NOV 13, 2012
Bottle from Geers

Head: small, off white
Colour: orangy amber
Smell: lemongrass, touch of ginger, bit grassy, some artificial lemon
Taste: bitter creamy malty start, a bit pepperish, some faint hopy flavour, mostly hop bitterness actually, sweet in the end, quite thick for a IPA , but good
