This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

330 ml @ Yngwies, all 19 varieties of single hop beers tasted at the same day in September 2011. Slightly unclear, deep golden body with a dense off-white head. A mild fruity aroma with caramel malt. Flavor is bitter and has more fruit, like slightly acidic fruit like lemon and fresh peaches. A bit different than many of the other single hop, almost complex and very pleasant.

light amber color, big caramel and piney nose, but myth was a bit oxadized. Not as lively or fresh as the tet. Clearly not in top shape.

Sampled side by side with the galena at The Porter in little five points in Altanta. Both pour a clear amber/copper with ring of offwhite head. but the nugget seams to stick a little better. The aroma of the nugget is a little sweeter on the nose. Flavor is more bitter than the galena however, and hints of grapefruit and lavender. I prefer the flavor of this one.

Tasting Session of Mikkeller Hop Series: Tasting nr 13. Darker amber coloured beer with some lighter carbonation and a medium slightly off white head. Stronger bitter hoppy hinted aroma. Medium to full palate. Finish is smouth with a longer quite bitter fruity touched ending.

Bottle at CPK. Pours ruby with a rich, white foam head. Caramel, toast and light leaves in the aroma. Medium sweet flavor with toasted sugar, toasted grass, ripe fruits, berry jam, leaves and light caramel. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Mild sticky finish with dry, toasted grass, orange citrus and mild dirt. Very decent IPA.

Bottle bought at Cask and drunk at home. Pours amber copper colour with decent bubbly gold head. Aroma is lemon citrus hops, bit of sweetness. Slightly floral. Quite nice. Bit biscuit malt, touch of spice. Taste is lemony, bit of creamy malt, citrus finish. Very drinkable and a bit more bitter than some of the others I have tried. Almost grassy hop at the end. Very nice.
