COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Burnt orange pour. White head. Aroma is hoppy, light caramel, dank wood aromas. Quite bitter on the tongue. Citrus hops. Strong aroma of citrus and yeast. The flavor has a strong citrus hop bite to it along with a decent underlying maltiness and a dry, bitter edge in the finish. Pretty good overall.

Deep malty color. Some sediment. Frothy head lasts indefinitely.Aroma is floral and bitter. Taste is light citrus and medium bitterness but a strong malt backbone fights for attention.

mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - APR 4, 2013
Sampled as part of a hop education class. Williamette on steroids. Stronger, and more bitter. Has the same solid body as W. Perhaps more earthy, and a very very subtle chocolate linger. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
