Cloudy orange, frothy head, fine carbonation. Sweet with a hint of ginger. Pine also evident early. Light bodied. Citrus heavy hops rounds it all off nicely. First one from this brewery and matched their reputation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

full bodied, far too sweet stem ginger in syrup with just a touch of pine and quite piney hops, tastes like a year old IPA despite being fresh..meh

One of my favourite beers. It looks fantastic in the glass. Pillowy and foamy. It smells piney and refreshing. The taste is really deep and comforting and malty, with a brilliant full bitterness. Lots of good complimentary aroma, flavour and bittering hops. A pleasure to drink every year.

330ml bottle bought at The Bottle Shop in Sai Kung.

Looks: Cloudy hazy golden honey colour; Explosive three finger head and crumpety off-white foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Beautiful sticky lacing with quite fizzy small carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant and sweet Ale malt, with fresh pine, pineapple, strong caramel, floral, honey, strong molasses, light resin, bread, strong yeast and fresh grass.

Taste: Mid to strong sweet rich Ale malt, with strong caramel, grapefruit, strong pine, ginger, resins, strong floral, strong molasses, biscuits, yeast, lemon, strong bitter hops and fresh grass.

Body: Close to medium body. Slick and creamy palate.

Mouth Feel: Rich Ale maltyness in a solid and very smooth body with good caramel character. Strong and herbal pine throughout, while strong ginger is spicy and powdery instead of raw fresh ones I expected. Good floral, nice molasses and biscuit. Not very resiny but has strong lemon to round. Really nice!

Hoppiness: Pineapple, floral, honey, light resin and fresh grass in nose. Fair grapefruits, light resins, strong floral, lemon, and fresh grass in taste. Bitterness is close to strong for a lasting. High astringent sweet bitter finish.

After Taste: Quite Dry. Smooth, piney and nice strong bitter to mouth.

Comments: This one’s pine influence is obvious, not the pine cone from hops, but the herbal pine needles. Ginger is not as loud as I wish, but the overall impression is bold as well as very comfy tasty. A fine IPA for all occasions!
