Borresteijn (7522) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - JAN 13, 2013
On tap at Beer Temple. Black colour, big beige head. Aroma of chocolate, spice, roasted malts, hot peppers. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, chocolate, spice like mace and cinnamon, light bitter roast, coffee, good and subtle hot pepper finish that lingers a bit. Medium-bodied. Good show. Seemed to me this was the From To Via with peppers added.

Tap at Max’s. Pours opaque black with creamy beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, vanilla, spices, plums, dates, and light woody notes. Flavor is dry roast malts, spices, light earthy and chocolate bitterness, and faint dark fruit esters; dry finish with some lingering pepper spiciness. Medium body and low carbonation.

A draft of this poured at Papago Brewing. Black nd thick with a ton of foamy brown head. Spicy chocolate aroma. Dry and weird aftertaste. Average

joeneugs (6372) - Livermore, California, USA - JAN 31, 2014
On tap at the Livermore Saloon. It pours a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is cocoa powder, chocolate and toast. I wasn’t getting any pepper. The flavor, however, had a nice mild heat to it with chocolate, bright peppers and a roasted finish. Pretty good stuff. Surprisingly understated.

Pyrmir (6348) - Blattniksele, SWEDEN - DEC 21, 2013
On tap. Pitch black with mocca head. Aroma of bitter dark chocolate, cacao, chili and roasted notes. Taste is a bit astringent, chocolate, cacao, chili, roasted notes with a long roasted finish with chili heat. Nice.

On tap. Black with a creamy light brown head. Dark chocolate, amber incense, and chili pepper aroma and taste with a roasted grain, smokey, and chili pepper heat to the finish. Thick creamy palate. Nice.

_angst_ (5009) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 24, 2012
Draught @ The Rover. Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a big creamy blackish chocolate brown head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing and lots of trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, dark chocolate, sweet liquorice candy, sweet dark bread, dark roast coffee, charred wood, smoke and hints of red chili peppers. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and slightly spicy hot with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, red habanero, salty liquorice, burnt wood, sweet dark bread, burnt sugar and hints of vanilla, green chili and pine. Mouthfeel is smooth, tiny oily bitter, tiny spicy hot and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter, malty and spicy hot with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, dark bread, red habanero, burnt wood and hints of alcohol and vanilla. A nice heavily roasted chili stout.

Fairly standard Impy. Poured black with a forthy tan head. Aroma of roast malt and a load of spice. Medium to full body, the flavour isn’t really that spiced, not a lot that stands out really.

Habanero (4887) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - NOV 24, 2012
UPDATED: NOV 27, 2012 Tap. Pitch black body with a small tan head with a nice lacework. Nose of toasted malt, chocolate, bread and chili notes. Sweet flavor that ends up quite bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft CO2. Habanero + stout: Lovely!★★★★
