Also being brewed at Against the Grain; Louisville. Aroma of orange peel, lemon, citrus hops and light caramel. Appearance is red/copper with creamy bone head. Flavor is all citrus hops with the slightest caramel presence; the finish is long and leafy. Palate is bubbly and medium bodied. Pretty good; I like a bit more of a malt bill in my IPA’s, but this is a good hop bomb. wnoble (1251) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JAN 27, 2012
Wasn’t sure if I should add this as a new entry because I’m drinking the one brewed at Against The Grain brewery in Louisville KY. Pours deep amber to red. Huge resinous hop nose. Citrus, pines, resin, dank hops, darker caramels. Nutty caramels. Flavor is grassy plant like resinous hops and muddled caramel malt. This is liquid plant. I like it but really really hop foreward. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - JAN 24, 2012
The beer is golden orange in color with a white head. A nice aroma which is quite fruit forward. Good grapefruit and citrus with a touch of tropical fruit. Sweet bready malt is there in the background. The flavor is not quite as enjoyable, but still good. Grapefruit and orange peel make up most of the hop flavor, but there is also some floral and pine character. A bit more sweet malt than I was hoping for, though. beersearcher (2382) - Glendale, California, USA - JAN 23, 2012
Much crisper and livelier hop aroma and initial flavor thanks to being brewed in California. Really piney and woodsy with lots of carbonation bubbles. Bitterness does linger without overstaying it’s welcome. marcus (10227) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 23, 2012
Bottle from Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours light amber with a clinging off-white head and a citrus aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with a sharp citrus finish. A bit too grassy.

I was looking forward to this new IPA by Mikkeller and local brewery Drake’s, but as self confessed hophead i was underwhelmed by the lack of aromas and a more malty taste. There’s definitely a bitter palate but if you’re looking for traditional forward fruity aromas you’re out of luck. oRos (1675) - sacramento, California, USA - JAN 22, 2012
Bottle from beerboxer. Dry clean finish. Citrus flavor hops... smells like a typical ipa BeerBoxer (232) - Sacramento, USA - JAN 22, 2012
Pours a light gold color with an earthy aroma. Taste a bit spicy, dry and citrus! Very balanced beer. Chuckaduck (674) - Highland Heights, Kentucky, USA - JAN 21, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 8, 2012 Re-rate. I let this one sit for a few months. Pours a gold-amber with a fluffy white head. Aroma is dark fruit, earth, bread, spicy, sweet, earthy, caramel. Taste is dry, spicy, citrus, bitter lemon peel, orange, toffee, caramel. Low-medium carbonation; nice mouth feel. This greatly improved with a few months of aging. I know you aren’t generally encouraged to sit on IPA but I like doing it. bhensonb (15194) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 10, 2012
Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe in Davis, CA. Pours hazy golden amber with a creamy near-white head. Aroma of resin over lightly toasted caramel. Med + body. Flavor is floral and resin over light sweet/roast caramel. It’s a fresh and bitter ale. Resin goes well into the finish. But there’s a floral component tagging along. Quite nice.
