COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This version of the It’s Alive has the mango to give it that sweet fruity tropical fruit taste, while the Chardonnay barrel aging gives it a vineous character. Brett gives the tartness. Complex beer – it is very much alive!

Tap at William IV, 16/08/13. Clear golden amber with a thin off white head. Nose is floral dank hops, earthy, light tropical fruits, piss, light soured fruit. Taste comprises white grape skins, perfumed tones, damp oaky notes, light soured tropicals, tarte mango sundae. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish. Nice drop - not overly sour would have preferred a little more puckering.

Tap at King William IV. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is earthy, apricot, peach, nactarine, yoghurt, damp wood and spice. The taste is smooth, earthy, light tart, spice, damp wood, sour apricot, mango, peach, natural yoghurt, white grape and alcohol warmth with a dry, lightly tart finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Smooth, nice tartness and well-balanced. This one really grew on me.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shop. Pours light copper with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is pleasantly sour. Not vinegar. Not ? Pleasant. Med body. Mango is somewhat obscured by the tart/sour, wood and general earthiness. Not getting a lot of white grape either. But the overall effect is quite wonderful. There’s a sour oak fruit effect. Once in awhile mango seems discernible. I can imagine grape once in awhile. It’s always tart/wood. Dry. Quite the experience.
