Danish: En vild belgisk ale brygget på: vand, malt (pale og cara), lys kandis, humle (hallertau og styrian golding), gær og brettanomyces. Lagret 7 måneder på hvidvinsfade.

English: It’s Alive!!! Indeed it is. This Belgian Ale has been aged on White Wine barrels to give it that touch of alcohol, while the Brettanomyces give the tartness. Complex but well balanced beer.

Pour a cloudy orange with an off-white head. Subtle tartness of lemon on the nose. Some white wine, a bit of Bretty funk, oak, and light spice notes. Light straw, some grass, and a definite barnyard as it warms. Light rubber band in there, too. The flavor is not bad. White wine, grass, Brett/barnyard funk, and spices. Some lactic tartness, a definite rubber band note, and a fairly heavy dose of tannins on the finish, making it very dry.

Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective barrel-aged beer tasting on 08/11/2012. Orange-amber pour with a medium white head that recedes slowly to a film. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruits and malt. Medium body with a vinous character and notes of brett, citrus, yeast and malt. The finish is fruity with a woody yeast aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle. Pours a funky brownish orange with frothy off-white head. Nice aroma of candied sugar, citrus fruit, slight funk. Complex flavors. Not super sour. Mikkeller all the way. More time in the bottle may bring out more flavor.

12.7 oz bottle. ABV was listed as 8.5%, and the label had a picture of a glass with an arm sticking out of it. Shared with abistany. Hazy muddled red color. Foamy big khaki / light brown head. Good tart light sour taste. Very smooth carbonation and texture, very dry finish. Nice aroma of white wine and wood, little belgian funk. Pleasant, complex brew to sip on. Really good once you let it sit and warm up a bit.

Flaske: En svag afmatning af sin originale øl. Orange øl med fint skumhoved. Duften er let brettet med en smule hvidvin af ubestemmelig oprindelse i duften. Smagen er forholdsvis simpel uden det helt store. Lettere skuffende.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber orange with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma hasa nice white wine note that lends a bit of tartness with sweet grains and brett underlying. Flavor starts with light grain and Brett with a nice white wine barrel note in the finish.

Bottle shared by a few chaps at 7venth Sun. Cheers! Nose is very fruity with a slight funky/sour note. Tons of pear and cherry aromas with an acidic quality. Soft aromas all together that make a very fruity and pleasing bouquet. Pour is brownish/red with a light white head that. Taste is full of pear, cherry, and prickly pear flavors. Very fruity and floral with a satisfying sour note on the finish. I’m starting to like these sours.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2012 Aroma is stunningly strong.Aromatic herbs, spicy caramel. Excotic dark ripe fruits. Alcohol in the background. Hazy red-brown. Head is short with small beige bubbles. Taste is strong and has nuances alike aroma. Strats with herby flavors with fruits like aroma. Alcohol mosty keeps you warm. Challenges you. Roasted toffee like caramel. Palate is light, really oily soft. Light carbonation. Bit sour and dry. Long finish. To a moviecrazy person like me this was a must. Overall it is like Larry Cohen movies bit strange but unique and great but also not for everyone. It’s Alive! Thank God It’s Alive!!!

Pours hazy copper with some intense white head. Aroma of wood, white wine, leather, brett and basement. Taste earthy, wood, brett and leather. Not really sour at all some light sweetness

Flaske 0,375l. Gave fra Rune. Drukket hjemme 31 Mai 12. Appelsinfarget meg litt gyldenbrunt skjær. Høyt bobleskum som varer ei stund. Litt fester seg til glasset. Syrlig fruktig aroma. På grensen til sur. Treaktig smak. Lett-drikkelig. Ikke offensiv på noen måte. Antakeligvis et godt matøl - men litt kjedelig. Mye bunnfall.
