Danish: En vild belgisk ale brygget på: vand, malt (pale og cara), lys kandis, humle (hallertau og styrian golding), gær og brettanomyces. Lagret 7 måneder på hvidvinsfade.

English: It’s Alive!!! Indeed it is. This Belgian Ale has been aged on White Wine barrels to give it that touch of alcohol, while the Brettanomyces give the tartness. Complex but well balanced beer.

December 2016 - Silver foil capped bottle shared at Leighton’s, with many thanks to Fergus. As ’Mikkeller It’s Alive! (White Wine Barrel)’, 8%. Vibrant reddy orange, hazy, still, thick foamy tan head. Aroma is bretty, funky, elderflower, flinty. Body is smooth, tingly carbonation. Taste is flinty, oaky, chardonnay, quite dry, minerally. Not exactly sour, but nice. (3.7)

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Fergus. Pours unclear orange with a creamy, off-white head. Some poopy funk in the nose, wood, berries, white grape, melon. Light sweet flavour with woody dryness, more mellow funk, orange peel, tangerine. Medium bodied with massaging carbonation. Finishes with mild warmth, more funk, light diaper, ripe berries, citrus rind, fruit leather. Quite nice.

Zlotta (3203) - Hagen / Bonn, GERMANY - SEP 30, 2016
Sampled from 0.375 bottle. Huge gusher! Slightly hazy, golden amber with an off-white head. Slightly sourish, a bit funky and slightly fruity aroma of white grapes, gooseberry, lemon, some barnyard and a touch of oak. Quite sour, rather fruity and moderately funky taste of lemon, gooseberry, white grapes, oak and barnyard, followed by a medium long, rather tart and very dry finish. Thin to medium body, very effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite nice!

Gott!

thedm (6147) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - APR 19, 2016
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a strong bubbly carbonation semi-opaque golden brown colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was musty. The off-tasting mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering spicy aftertaste. The strange flavor contained notes of bitter semi-sweet old ale cloves mild wheat mild spice mild hops and bread dough. A decent one but not one that I would consider drinking again.
