COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
Mikkellers tribute to the foul-mouthed stewardess Jackie Brown from Quentin Tarantino’s movie of the same name. It’s a roasty, chocolaty brown ale with hints of coffee and licorice. Being a Mikkeller brew the malts are inevitably complimented by a great amount of hop bitterness, aroma and flavour.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale, munich, cara-pils, cara-crystal, brown and chocolate), flaked oats, hops (nugget, simcoe and centennial) and ale yeast.

Excalibur123 (521) - Soria, SPAIN - NOV 13, 2016

Bottle @ Elfo’s Pub, Perugia, Italy. Pours with a dark brown colour, small tan head. Aroma is medium malty, with notes of dark chocolate and roasted malts; also a bit hoppy; a bit faint. Taste is medium sweet, medium bitter; bitter not in a good way, to be honest. Medium to heavy body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation, very bitter finish.

Lekker.

stravale (3088) - Co. Westmeath, IRELAND - AUG 30, 2016
Bottle from Skelly’s, Ballymahon [290816]
Dark brown, hazy, frothy fluffy beige head, good lacing
Aroma of citrus, browm caramel malts, dab of yeast, dissipates away
Taste of brown caramel, bitter citrus zest, dark fruits, dab of nutty malts, hint of roast, bitter orange, quite complex, good flavour
Palate - Medium carb and body, quite rich, bitter citrus and roast. Finish is bitter, bitter pine hops, fruity brown malts, nutty soft roast
Overall - Complex beer, a bit unusual. I like brown ales - this works for me

ALIBALI (2401) - Kiel, GERMANY - AUG 25, 2016

33cl bottle. Clear dark ruby-brown pour with a medium height beige head. Notes of citrus hops, metal, lightly roasted malts, some pine hops, light dark chocolate. Medium body, high carbonation and a bitter, refreshing finish.

Sparf (288) - SWEDEN - AUG 12, 2016

heavy (2890) - Split, CROATIA - JUL 14, 2016
Apr. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle that poured a hazy brown body with medium sized head. Hoppy aroma, pungent with notable mildly roasted malt like cocoa and coffee. Flavor was bitter, a lot of orange bitterness, a bit of caramel, roasted sugar, especially in the aftertaste. Quite simple but very effective, as these recent hoppy brown ales tend to be!

Nice fresh hoppy earth head with strong liquorice notes & torrefied underground. Plain dark colour with light brown foam. Taste is, as expected, sweet & strongly dominated by coffee & dark caramel with corresponding bitterness. Successful beer but sweetness and liquorice make it hard to finish for my taste.

gEUS (1637) - Linden, BELGIUM - JUL 4, 2016
750 ml bottle at home - 2009 vintage. Pours dark brown, small head. Damn, nose is still full of roasted malts, coffee notes and caramel. Light body, little bitter and little sour, but flavours have well integrated; cold coffee and caramel.
