COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
Mikkellers tribute to the foul-mouthed stewardess Jackie Brown from Quentin Tarantino’s movie of the same name. It’s a roasty, chocolaty brown ale with hints of coffee and licorice. Being a Mikkeller brew the malts are inevitably complimented by a great amount of hop bitterness, aroma and flavour.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale, munich, cara-pils, cara-crystal, brown and chocolate), flaked oats, hops (nugget, simcoe and centennial) and ale yeast.

Very nice dark brown yet see through pour, with a nice off white head with some nice lacing on my glass. Nice roasted malt aroms with a good dose of hops, and a touch of chocolate, and even some tobacco. Oh wow.....the flavour is incredible. Lots of hops, but the sweet malt, and chocolate stick around with some very nice coffee undertones. The typical brown ale caramel flavour is there, and it mingles with the chocolate, and the hops beautifully. I could drink this all day, this is an incredible beer! another triumph for Mikkeller!

Wonderfull. All around great beer. Well crafted and laid out with a plan. This guy doesnt make bad beer! Everything he makes is gold! Delicious, malty, darker with a perfect blend of dark roast malts and coffee flavor. Amazing. Mouthfeel is great, grain bill is on point. Just spectacular! Anything Mikkeller makes is worth buying trust me. He is a school teacher who started brewing in his house, 10 years later is brewing some of the top beers in the world! Buy it.

Im Antrunk röstmalzig mit Kaffeetönen. Sehr toll. Im Hauptteil röstmalzig, tiefschwarz, Espresso. Trocken-herb, sehr gut abgestimmt. Der Nachgeschmack ist sehr lang, verbrannt, dickflüssig und süffig zugleich. Toll.
Die starke röstmalzige trockene Herbe, aber zugleich mild-süßliche Note hält sich noch sehr lange auf der Zunge. Richtig toll! 15/15/15/15

330 ml. bottle @ home. Purchased @ Delhaize. I always expected Mikkeller to become a global brand but it is still a real shock to being able to buy a Mikkeller beer in a supermarket in Belgium. Drank as “Brown / Jackie”. BBF 10/03/2017. Dark brown amber, mocha head. Lacing. Creamy mocha, bit thin, faint roast chocolate & rather big blue cheese hops (Sorachi Ace?). Taste is light bitter mocha roast, blue cheese hops, mocha powder, milk chocolate, creamy, oats, lactose, grainy, powdery, instant chocolate milk,… Grainy & very creamy body. Highly delicious, I love blue cheese hops. At least that is how they taste to me, not sure how they taste to others, I usually associate the taste with Sorachi Ace. Amazing stuff & this is a Brown Ale. Wowza.

Nice and opaque, brown, muddy beer with a fine beige, everlasting head. The aroma is very good even though it is this beer’s vulnerable point, and has lot of sweet chocolate, and aroma hops. The flavor is just perfect for a brown ale. As always with Mikkellers beer (although I have only thried 3 different), there is a distinct hops profile from the start to the end, and in every little "corner" of this beer’s oily and full-bodied palate the hops are obvious. There is a lot of chocolate, both the dark bitter version and some sweet chocolate, but also a subdued amount of coffee, and a very nice bitter hops finish.

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2011 Rerate: I would add some caramelly and biscuity notes to the aroma. It has quite some sweetness in it, cause of the cara-malts. But what a wonderful brew this is. Absolutely frikkin fantastic! Original: Clear brown color, short off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolat, coffee, licorice, some hop. Quite bitter taste, lots of chocolat and malts, bit sweet, creamy, coffee. Intense, very nice balance. Longlasting finish of bitter chocolat.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2009 16.9 oz longneck bottle. Rich thick brown black colors, with some orange corners where the light can get through. Decent head. Amazingly fresh aroma of syrupy hops. The taste is quite nice and hoppy as well, with no spiciness, just an earthy sweet bitterness. This beer is awesome, maybe the best brown ale I’ve ever had. The malts are there, they just happen to be perfectly balanced with the unapologetic hops. Bittersweet dark malt aftertaste. Another amazing beer from Mikkeller.

I love Porter, I love American IPA. Mikkeller blended both for me or what? This Brown Ale melt citrusy, crispy fresh fruity notes of an IPA with the chocolate, roasted notes and dry finish of a porter. Yeah ! ENjoy this Beer too, I recommend it !

Bardzo dobre brown ale. Chyba jedno z najlepszych z tego stylu jakie degustowalem. Ciemno brazowe z czerwono rubinowa barwa. Metne, dosc solidnie. Piana jasno zoltawa, bardzo kremowa i trwala. Do tego narastalo szybko podczas wolnego nalewania. Mistrzostwo. W smaku troche kasztanowe troche czekoladowe i kawowe. Piwo pobudza jakby bylo afrodyzjakiem. Lekko pachnie chmielem i w smaku takze sie go wyczuwa. Slodowosc sycaca. Pyszne brown Ale. Minusem jest sporo zmieniona etykieta z czarnej na biala. Okropna jest.
