375 ml. bottle @ home split by 2. Procured from De Hopduvel in Gent. BBF 06/08/2015. Label is incredible, one of the best ones & I usually do not like Mikkeller labels, sorry Keith Shore. Pours a hazy orange with white bubbles. USA hops dominate the nose, low on bitterness, high slightly sweet fruity character for the hops, grapefruit, tangerine, light yeast in the back, yeast is touch sweeter & heavier than usual in character, faint bitterness comes in from hay notes. Taste is comparable to that of an average APA but features a heavier yeast character than most examples in the style do. Quite comparable to other Mikkelller offerings within the same category & quite De Proef like. Noticeable sweet bready yeast profile is coupled with USA hops. Low on bitterness, high on juicy fruit characters, tangerine, mandarin, berries coupled with some complimentary but faint hay & barn notes in the back. Texture is that of soft & chewy De Proef-syle yeast. Overall some might prefer a lighter bodied approach to the style but I found this perfect in drinkability, taste was flavourful, fruity & full of hops without becoming punishing in bitterness. Overall this hits full marks for an easy, everyday sessionable beer but falls short in that category simply because even if a lower priced Mikkelller offering, this is still too expensive for regular consumption.
