Draft. This was my second time having it at Tadg’s. The first time I was blown away by a bacon aroma followed by an easy to drink dark beer. A very strong dark beer, rich & malty. Very solid. Kaatuu lasiin tummana, runsaalla isokuplaisella ruskealla vaahdolla. Haju on todella yrttinen, hieman kuivattua hedelmää, rusinaa, havuisuutta ja savua löytyy myös joukosta. Maku on konjakkinen, rusinainen, kuivatun hedelmäinen, yrttinen, mausteinen ja hieman lakritsinen. Suutuntuma on katkeran yrttinen ja hieman hyökkäävä. Draught @ Bishops Arms Järntorget. Pours pitch black with a creamy dark brown head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of trace on the glass. Smell is sweet with roasted malts, dark piney honey, pine needles, charred wood, alcohol and hints of port wine. Taste is sweet, bitter, salty and tiny acidic with roasted malts, salty liquorice, pumpernickel bread, oily pine, dark earthy honey, moist soil, moist tobacco, sweetened coffee and hints of port wine and soy sauce. Mouthfeel is round, boozy, sticky sweet, tiny astringent and medium to full bodied. Draught at Bishops Arms Järntorget, Göteborg, Sweden. Black with medium to large brown head. Roasted chocolate and coffe aroma with piney and resiny hops and loads of cloying honey. Draught at Tadg’s. Deep dark fruit aromas, with a bit of coffee. Black, dark tan ring of foam. Sort of a weak initial; mid palate bursts out with chocolate and prunes and also an unusual flavor that seems like instant powdered stout mixed with water; finish is vinous and pruney. Medium body, with (again) a sense of powdered chocolate on the tongue. Unusual stuff. UPDATED: OCT 3, 2012 Draught at Tadg’s. Nose of old barrels, soy sauce, fish. Super sweet and super savory. Barrel, musty, oak, wine, earthy, dirty. Smooth and big, with spices, alcohol, burnt coffee, tobacco, Worcestershire, and soy. Very weird and interesting. Didn’t really like it at first, but it grew on me immensely.

(Draught) Pours black with a small brown head. The aroma holds honey and floral tones up front. Lots of coffee and asphalt-like roast alongside grapefruity and resinous hops. The flavour is medium to heavily sweet, medium to heavily bitter and medium acidic. Tones of honey, flowers, grapefruit, resin, asphalt, coffee and gravel. The mouthfeel is sticky, round and acidic tart with a light to medium carbonation. Burned and hop bitter finish. Medium to full bodied. Mortlach (2467) - Rome, ITALY - JAN 18, 2012
23/03/2011 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Nera, impenetrabile, con schiuma scura, un po’ disomogenea e con bolle grossolane, color cappuccino. Aroma di malti tostati, caffè, vaniglia, cioccolato. In bocca ha un attacco dolce, è molto simile alla Imperial Stout della Nøgne Ø, ma più carbonata e un filo meno cremosa. Sul finale spiccano nettamente note amarognole di caffè. Corpo medio, carbonazione abbondante. Buona.
