In short: A pale golden belgian ale dominated by sugary honey and woodsy vinous flavors. Meh. Frallan (38) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 1, 2013
How: Bottle 375ml corked & caged, consumed with some age on it but still 4 years before expiration date.
The look: Medium cloudy pale golden body topped by a persistent small off-white head.
In long: Nose is heavy on woodsy honey (very much reminiscent of linden honey) along with a sensation of smelling a bouquet of flowers in a dusty attic, also light woody white wine notes. Taste is coarse grainy cereals, wood, linden honey, white wine, mild spicy-herbal notes, dusty yeast. Plenty of sweetness that feels a bit like old honey turning into sugars. A beer that throws many things at you but at the end it is the sugary honey and woody vinous notes that dominate and this makes for a beer that is far from easy to drink, the type of blend of flavors that I quickly grew tired of before I even finished a small 375ml. Not sure who Mielcke & Hurtigkarl are but I’m not ruling out they are a couple with a son named Fgiktoqbyxtu.

New batch - I Loves the old hurtigkerlnwith its light fruity flavors with notes of the Sauterne in a fresh sparkly beverage. This new battle pours light brownish and has an off note in the aroma. The palette is bitter and also with an off note and lacks the Sauterne notes of the predecessor.
This is NOT the same beer and it is not good!!!
Bottle, 375ml corked. It’s an unclear, orange beer with a small, white head. Cellar and some fruityness and piney hints on the nose. Some white sugar and a vinous touch too. Pleasant flavor with bitterness, lots of wood, as well as cellar and pine cones. Some tropical fruits and a little hint of white sugar too. Medium body, semi-dry and pleasantly carbonated. Some warmth on the palate, nice carbonation level and dry. Lasting finish. Not really sure about this one. It’s good indeed, but probably a tad too woody. Wouldn’t mind drinking more of it though. 131026 Geokkjer (7654) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - OCT 26, 2013

Medium to bigger sized ashy airy off white foamy head on top of a hazy yellow colored beer.
Aromas of white wine, barley malts, oatmeal, honey, meal, meat, hay, cream, some wood, grapes and a hint of liquor tones.
Flavours of honey, oatmeal, cream, white wine, grapes, wood, dusty fruit, some hops, grains, a strange bitterness and hints of alcohol, hay, chalk and liquor.
Aftertaste is mealy, warmth, grains, some honey, hint of bitters and peach and some warmth.
Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium to lightly fuller body and a creamy texture.
To much grains and oatmeal... Nice white wine tones but all by all it’s quite unbalanced.
Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013, 10/08/13. chimpgibbon (560) - London, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 12, 2013
Golden amber with a thin white head.
Nose is herbal, light caramel notes, grass, bitter orange, dark fruit.
Taste comprises light orange, grass, herbal notes, fruits, pinch of spice, a little funky note or two.
Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, dry finish.
Ok drinkable affair but nothing I’d rush back to!
Bottle from Vino Wines. Dirty fizzy orange with no head. Apples / grapes / lime, yeast. Light caramel then boozy tartish fruit then lingering bittersweet tail. A bit too much fizz for me which gets in the way of an otherwise great brew. fiulijn (21470) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 9, 2013
Bottle shared at Pibar, Lausanne
Amber color, dull brown hue, with medium sized compact head. The aroma is nice, there is vanilla, white wine, some Belgian yeast; elegant. Highly carbonated, gently sweet malt flavor, mild yeast spices, pleasant boozy wine character; correct bitterness, light final astringency.
