Pours brown with a medium brown lasting head. Nose is really fruity with nuts, toast, bourbon barrel, grapes, plums, wood, and oak. Flavor is very light spice, dark cherries, berries, grape juice, plums, sweet malts. Rich and fruity. Medium light sweetness. Slightly watery texture. I enjoyed this. One of the better mikkeller beers I’ve had. rederic (3344) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 9, 2014

375ml bottle. Nice dirty brown with a light beige heads that completely disappears. Bourbon, semi buttery, with some vanilla and oak overwhelms pretty much anything you get in terms of belgian yeast and sugars etc that you typically associate with an abt/quad. On the one hand I enjoy it because its a nice bourbon flavour but on the other hand I would rather have the bourbon compliment rather then overwhelm. High carbonation, moderate body, alcohol, sweet at first and then cloying on the finish. Promising but too unbalanced for my liking. BeerBaboon (2144) - FINLAND - DEC 7, 2013
Pours black with light beige head. Aroma is vanilla, wood, bourbon and roasted. Flavour is bourbon, vanilla, wood and sweet. mverity (362) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - NOV 29, 2013
Opaque deep brown with hints of garnet. Head is thick and tan and pretty dang persistent. Aroma is some earthy-musty dark fruits, some char notes too. Taste is considerably better. Same deep fruit character (cherry, fig, plum), red wine-like, some char too. Nice and velvety on the tongue, medium body (which I find a tad thin for a quad) and nice low carbonation. Great lingering taste.

12.7oz bottle, shared. Clear brown red color. Thin off-white head. No lace sticks. A lot of wood, spice, vanilla, bourbon flavors in the nose. Dark fruit in the flavor, lighter spice. Bigger body, but dry. Smooth, soft, sort of lighter carbonation. Nice moderate sweet taste, good light hint of alcohol. Very enjoyable bourbon barrel aged quad. Nice dark fruit notes, good level of bourbon and alcohol. Camons (13495) - Hasselager, DENMARK - OCT 25, 2013
Bottle @ Christers. Pours hazy dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma of malt, candy sugar, oak, vanilla, bourbon. Flavor is malt, caramel, candy sugar, chocolate, oak, bourbon, some booze. Full body, rather high carbonation, warming alcoholic finish. 231013 mjs (7768) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 25, 2013
(Keg at Oluttupa Viisi Penniä, 20131025) The beer poured dark brown and clouudy. Its head was small and white. Aroma had vineousness, wood and vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and quite dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were vineousness, vanilla, wood, caramell, malts and low bitterness. Afertaste had wood and bitterness. A tasty brew spoled by barrel aging which resulted in too much wood infused flavours and aromas.
