olio (10694) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 17, 2011
Draught @ Craft Bere Co., London.
Rated on 20110720.
Dark red colour with very small head. Aroma is sour with berries, some yeast and spices also. Flavour is sour berries, spices, earth and malts. Sour palate and somewhat exciting, but the alcohol comes through a bit too much.

mcberko (19871) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 25, 2013
375mL bottle, pours a murky dark amber brown with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out red wine barrels, noticeable brett, some dark fruits and a little candied sugar. Flavour brings out brett and red wine barrels upfront, caramel malts, and dark fruits. The brett gives it quite a wild character that surprisingly works well with the vinous and typically quad notes. Great stuff.

sfhodense (4788) - Odense NØ, DENMARK - JUL 17, 2011
Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma is caramel, brett, redwine and dark fruit. Flavour is caramel, light brett, fark fruit and light redwine. Needs more complexity to be perfect.

38cl, at 10.5%Vol, as Monk’s Elixir (Lagret på rødvinsfade med Brettanomyces), new exclusive Danish brew Anno 2011, thx to Jeppe!, complex brew, fruity/vinous and slightly sour/woody, not too heavy, balanced, hazy, good head, good brew, yet very expensive!

3.5
erickok (6036) - Leuven, BELGIUM - SEP 24, 2011
Murky brown, tiny head. Light sour at first but disappearing. Next wood, caramel, leather and bread. Complex but taste disappoints a little though. Bit of smoke. Can’t be bothered by this. (At Borefts)

maledictum (813) - Pyongyang, NORTH KOREA - OCT 25, 2011
Murky brown. Aroma of brett and fruits. Sourish flavor with fruits, some yeast and some sweeter malt. Finishes bitter. Medium-bodied.

delnoche (516) - Alamogordo, New Mexico, USA - APR 24, 2013
12.7fl oz bottle poured into a Westmalle Trappist glass. Dark ruby/brown with fizzy tan head. Aroma is barnyard and slight candy sugar but later became red wine. Flavor is red wine, candy, copper. Rather sour due to the Brett. Medium carbonation, full body. Sour finish with a slight alcohol burn. Interesting beer, though not something I’d pick up again.

markextrae (4604) - Alingsås, SWEDEN, SWEDEN - MAY 28, 2015
shared 375cl bottle, poured a murky dark amber brown colour with a tanned head, notes of sweet caramel malts, tart red fruits, red grapes, oak, earth, spice yeast notes, vineous notes, slight tart acid finish. not the best monk’s version

Balazs (787) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - OCT 20, 2011
Bottle @ Borefts 2011. Murky, brown color. Fruity nose with hints of dark fruits, caramel, a bit of drak chocolate. No taste of alcohol. Okay.
