Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pours a dark ruby-hued brown body with a medium off-white head. Aroma is red wine, wood, caramel, raisins, red berries, hints of toffee, grains, straw and brown sugar. Taste is raisins, red wine, wood, caramel, hints of grains, brown sugar, alcohol and red berries. Full body, medium carbonation. Nice, smooth, strong and loads of BA flavors, while still retaining the quad feel. ej (1330) - Hauglandshella, NORWAY - FEB 25, 2015

37.5 cl bottle
I prefer this one from the original. Brown, beige foam. Nose of caramel, sugar, red wine, oak, acidity. Medium body. Again the bog notes of the oak on the mouth. Nice!

Not good anymore... TheJvd (1343) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 13, 2013
Bottle at 2nd tuesday tasting. Pours brown with a red glow and a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt, blue cheese, red wine is very present, some oak and some red fruit. Taste is very nice with a sweet malty base, red wine, some oak, fruity and baslamic vinegar. Taste also reminds me a bit of Rodenbach. Really nice stuff this. Quite thin for a quad, but tastes really good.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy, brown beer with a small, off white head. Aroma is blue cheese, port, fresh, fruity apples and has a clear presence of wine oak! Wow.. awesome. Flavor is has some fruity funkyness to it with a sweeter base. Must be the quad influences mixed with the wine oak. This is incredibly well balanced between sweet and sour, beer and wine. Well done! kermis (15154) - The Hague / Amsterdam / Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - MAR 12, 2013

Thin off white head. Hazy burgundy pour. Some sourness. KyotoLefty (10928) - Kyoto, JAPAN - NOV 5, 2012
Bottle. Nose of caramel, acid, cherry, poop. Muddy-ass brown with red, lace. Flavors are oak, cherry, vinegar, chocolate, caramel. Nice sour edge. Light and hides its alcohol well. Not sure if I like sour abts, but this is decent.

Bottle. As "Mikkeller Barrel-Aged Monk’s Brew -- Dark Belgian Wild Ale aged in Red Wine Barrels". Sourish, coffee, some sugary aromas. Light clear brown with a thin tan head. Mix of sweet and sour flavors. The high alc. level is not readily appparent. Thin body. Pleasant stuff, but oh-so mild.
