Bottled. A hazy red beer with a bubbly brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, red berries, wood, brettanomyces, and red wine. The flavor is sweet with notes of wood, brettanomyces, malt, caramel, red wine, and alcohol, leading to a dry tart and alcoholic finish. ACBF. Hazy red-brown beer, no real head. Light soft dry palate. Lovely mild sour notes with mild red wine in near perfect balance. Milky sweetness, brett sourness and some fruitiness. Light dry finish. Really nice one from Mikkeller!
UPDATED: APR 12, 2011 Bottle 37,5 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a cloudy opaque dark brown with a lively and lacing off-white head. Tart pretty nose, lots of barrel here. Medium body, dry dark dried fruits, loads of Brett and barrel, some sweet vanilla. No hops and not overly boozy - actually extremely pleasant and balanced. 230311 Leighton (22056) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 29, 2011
Tap at the Craft Beer Co., London. Pours dark brown with a foamy head. Cidery nose, some berries and other fruits. Flavor is sweet and extremely sour. Makes one go weak in the knees. Tasty. Refreshing. Light warming finish, lingering tartness, some sweet malts. Good stuff. Rasmus40 (21697) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - MAR 25, 2011
Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is red wine, dried fruit and rather bretty. Flavor is quite sweet and light sour. Light sour and acidic finish. If you’re not a fan of red wine, which I’m not, have the unbarrelled version instead. 230311 Koelschtrinker (21370) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 3, 2011
Gelungener Fruchtantrunk, der aber ein wenig zu trocken daherkommt. Die Herbe übertönt das schwache Malz, das Bier wirkt daher laff. Nun leider deutlich weniger sauer, was zu einem zu kurzen Finish führt. /8/9/8//8
