UPDATED: DEC 13, 2017 bottle at home under the name of monk's brew. first time drinking this style. I love it, it's so great it plays with the palate. It's also so smooth you wouldn't realise it's a 10% beer. SintSixtus (1) - Bourg, Louisiana, USA - DEC 11, 2017 does not count
Before drinking this beer I thought the Belgians were the only ones who could make such good beer. Unbelievably smooth and easy to drink so it doesn't taste like 10%. It's up there with Westvleteren, St. Bernardus, Chimay, Trappist Rochefort, and others. jsnicholas (691) - Woodinville, Washington, USA - NOV 29, 2017

Bottle - A nice meaty brew to drown my sorrows as I watch this terrible Alabama performance in the Iron Bowl. Also, Auburn has gotten away with some pass interference that should have been called. Gutting loss, but the beer is good. DiarmaidBHK (5951) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 25, 2017

I have wanted to try something from Mikkeller for a long time, never could find anything. Finally located Monk’s Brew in Santa Fe. All right. Chilled before pouring into my New Belgium globe glass, a dark almost black liquid along with a wispy light tan head that shows signs of lacing. But enough of that. The nose is inviting, dark fruit, malt and yeast. Enough of that too, I want a drink. Hey now, pretty fine. There is malt, raisin, something herbal, a slight toffee sweetness. It finishes with a pronounced bitterness, surprising. Comparable in taste to Rochefort Trappistes, not at the same level though. Speko (484) - DENMARK - NOV 4, 2017
