Can in Seattle. Creamy light tan-gray foam which lingers forever on a rich, quite dark malty brown body. Sweet and toasty aroma. Smooth sip, full body, chewy rich chocolaty malts. Clean green hops, plenty of resin, clean smooth bitterness. Quite enjoyable Black ipa. edgallow (4761) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - NOV 2, 2017

Drank from the can. It looks good, and tastes velvety and slightly spicy, so interesting, definitely, but not my favourite Black IPA. beer-yum (2048) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 21, 2017
Restrained citrus aroma in a deep coke colored pour. Hop forward balance with a big fruity malt body and sustained bitter finish. Gets better as it warms up and is one of the best BIPAs I’ve had. wombat23 (2189) - Texas, USA - AUG 17, 2017
12 oz. can. Pours almost black with a creamy beige head. Heavy lacing with good retention. Aroma of roasted malt, citrus, licorice. Taste follows nose with some charred notes and a piney bitter finish. Nice.

12oz can. Pours a completely opaque black with a rich frothy tan head; the head dissipates to at least 1cm and leaves lots of sticky lacing on the glass. Aroma has elements of bitter roasted malt and some sweet stone fruit suggestions but very little hop notes. Taste starts off with a little hop bitterness and then gives way to bitter and semi-sweet chocolate flavors before finishing with some faint tropical fruit essences... the Mosaic hop character appears to be fairly subdued and/or interacting with the malt in an unusual way to create a very tasty beer (but more on the hoppy porter side of the black IPA spectrum). Medium body with a creamy, slightly oily and quite effervescent mouthfeel; finish is very long and somewhat bitter but appropriately so. While I generally prefer black IPAs with a stronger hop flavor rather than a pronounced maltiness, I think that this is a delicious beer. alexsdad06 (11561) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUN 16, 2017
Can at home. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark fruit, anise, earthy, good. Learninbeer (700) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - APR 28, 2017
The aroma is different, smell of licorice, clove? and some hops, citrus. Pours almost black with beige head mostly lasting and excellent lacing. The taste is medium bitter. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish bitter and long. Very Good!!!

Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Kolejna świetna nowość od Mikkellera, jedno z lepszych "zwykłych" Black IPA, jakie piłem. thornecb (6235) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 25, 2017
Pours deep brown into a tulip. Mocha head with excellent retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Sour dark pit fruit, hot fig and anise. Dry with dark licorice and chocolate turning to an astringent, bitter pith finish.
