3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
375ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy medium gold, with a medium white head, which lasts well without leaving too much lacing. The aroma is dominated by lemon verbena, which gives it a herbal, citric almost sauvignon blanc character. More lemon verbena up front is combined with mild spice hops. Very light white bread and caramel malt notes in the mid-palate are again overcome by zingy lemon verbena, which persists into the finish. This is not a bad beer, although very one-dimensional. It feels like the beer itself is just there as a plinth on which to mount the herb, and it definitely feels like a beer designed for white wine drinkers. It is pleasant enough, and to give NOMA their due, it is better than Ferran Adria’s beer.
UPDATED: SEP 9, 2015 Smell of seaweed and ozone with sherbet, uncooked bread (dough), sour barnyard, a bit like a trappist ale.
The pallet is a disappointment thin and watery.
Tastes salty and bland.
Easy drinking but not in a good way.

APPEARANCE: clear blond beer, small stable white head.
NOSE: very spicy, anise, too much in general of it.
TASTE: flavour bomb, anise, over the top... But probably goes well with certain dishes? Fashawn (604) - ITALY - DEC 14, 2014
Pours slightly cloudy yellow with a white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma is citrus, spices, and something herbal. Flavour is much like the aroma – with a dry finish. angel77 (3685) - oviedo, SPAIN - NOV 20, 2014
Buena, sobretodo original.

Looks..hazy straw yellow, sml-med white head.
Smells.. Hay, citrus, floral and spice.
Tastes..a citrus fruitiness, mellowed by floral spices and clean/crisp malts.
Really is very great for the style of beer.

Aroma is amazing, fresh flowers, sea salt, and lemon. The taste is a bit disappointing only in comparison to the aroma. It is very light refreshing slightly bitter and dry. A very well crafted beverage, a compliment to a meal with no over powering properties. bartlebier (4089) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - JUL 27, 2014
37,5cl bottle hauled by embrouille, merci! Most aspects of this beer, especially the condensed, pure, herbal aroma, reminded me of the master cleanse days accompanied by the mild distractions of liters and liters of verbena tea: this beer has all the herbal corduroy, guava coatings and unsweet wild honey characteristics of a boiled-down verbena broth, mercifully without its diuretic effects. Like a marine herbal lemongrass/elder tonic, save the brine, save the citrus. Elegant light yeast profile, dry. Very monothematic beer executed with puristic minimalism, in line with both Mikkeller’s and noma’s culinary worldviews, I suppose, less with my own. Could have used a gently crowd-pandering citrus note, of any kind. Specialised audiences, aka upper echelon only. jtclockwork (16951) - , New Jersey, USA - JUN 24, 2014
Bottle thanks to Kbudd19. Pours slightly cloudy gold with white head. Nose/taste of peppercorn, lemon, sage, oregano, miscellaneous Italian spices and light malt. Lighter medium body. DuffMan (10555) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 3, 2014
Bottle. Slightly hazy bright yellow with a very dense thick persistent white head. Aroma is floral lime, galangal, and pepper. The palate has light malts that allow the delicate spices to shine. There is a touch more floral pepper in the flavour (grains of paradise), with some cucumber green character too. Finishes with light bitterness. This really impressed me.
