Bottle at a tasting. There is a slight sourness to this beer, which I do not like despite knowing that it comes from the yuzu. It is very close to citric acid and does nothing to improve the character of the beer, which despite not being bad, does not seem great either. Assertive roasted malts. Good but not great. fajry (2043) - SLOVAK REPUBLIC - DEC 7, 2016

Bottle. Sensoric. Deep brown with medium to big, light brown, densed head. Good lacing and head retention. Aroma is really nice combination of roasted malts (chocolate, some coffee), citrus notes, broken by some interesting dry grand mariner notes. What’s more somewhere in behind there are some lightly dark fruit notes - plums, raisins. Everything is nicely balanced - the porter features do not disappear behind BA and yuzu content. Taste is semi-dry, slightly acidic in the end. It’s rather constant thru the whole of degustation. Medium body, thin texture, average carbonation, finish is vinous, semi-dry and lightly bitter. Once again nice proof what you can do with old-school, cardboard and nutty porter to make it more interesting. kevinator (2176) - The Colony, Texas, USA - NOV 11, 2015
Interesting. Dark chocolate aroma with a hint of citrus. Great color and head. Weighty but not too much. Roasted Flavors up front followed by orange zest and other earthy tones. tandembrauer (1475) - Stavanger, NORWAY - NOV 7, 2015
On tap at What’s Brewing 2015, Stavanger. Pours dark bron with small beige head. Aroma of oranges, citrus, dark chocolate, alcohol. Taste sour and sweet with some burnt bitterness. ABT_S54 (352) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - OCT 24, 2015
37.5cl bottle served in a snifter. Pours dark brown with a short-lived light tan head. Aroma is mostly barrel and a bit of mustiness. Taste is sweet with a medium bitterness and a slightly thin mouthfeel. I expected the orange to be overpowering with it both brewed and aged with orange but it is very subtle. As it warms up a milk chocolatey sweetness with a dry finish becomes apparent with a slight hint of aniseed. OK for the abv but overpriced and not what I expect from Mikkeller. willisread (3306) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 2, 2015
Tap at Mikkeller Tokyo. Aromas of light sourness with some vanilla, wood and light orange. Taste is fairly complex with some coffee, dark cacao, vanilla and smokiness along with a hint of funk on the palate. The yuzu is very muted in comparison with the standard version. It does rear it’s head on the finish in a slightly bittersweet yuzu way. Complex, but maybe a little bit too much going on.
