Pours a beautiful dark brown with a light brown head. Coffee, roast, and licorice in the aroma. Flavor has coffee, chocolate, vanilla, roast. Roast coffee bitterness, smoke, and alcohol in the finish. This is an outstanding sipper.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a nice large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, black chocolate and residuals sugar is quite nice. Taste is a good mix of residual sugar notes with some black chocolate notes and timid notes of roasted malt. Body is full with nice creamy texture and good carbonation. Enjoyable but thicker and heavier than most porter with a more sweet finish.

Bottle. Poured black, with one of the most beautiful heads i've ever seen. Excellent mariage of a heavy roast and a malt sweetness, a tiny hint of smoke and a good note of dark red fruits. Extra dense, full-body, very rich. Absolutely the best porter I've tried so far, better than most of baltic porters I know. All that at a fair price of 14pln. WOW!

This bottle at 8% vol., best before 23/02/20. Aroma is licorice, coffee, chocolate, smoke. Much of the same in the taste which is sweet from the chocolate, medium bitter, nice smoke, vanilla and some flavour (spice) that is hard to nail. Overall very nice.

puren (1185) - Gdańsk, POLAND - JUL 15, 2017
PREZENTACJA: czarne, obfita beżowa piana, opada do kożuszka, oblepia ściankę piękną złożoną koronką;
AROMAT: intensywny - śliwka w gorzkiej czekoladzie, czekoladowa pralina, cukrowa pianka, cukier trzcinowy, kakao, w tle majaczy sos sojowy;
ODCZUCIE: ciało niskie, nisko nasycone, proszkowe na języku, bardzo delikatne rozgrzewanie w przełyku;
SMAK: gorzka czekolada ze słodkawym syropem czekoladowym, kakao, średnia długa chmielowa goryczka;

Dość wytrawny i całkiem niezły porter.

330 ml. bb 23/11/19. Coal black pour with a big spongy foam. Nose is semi-sweet chocolate, orange, espresso graham flour and dark toasted marshmallow. Flavors of molasses, espresso, char that’s almost smoke, soured orange, soy and marshmallow. Medium body has low-medium carbonation. A little sticky, but still very tasty and drinkable.

Ocena przepisana z notatek / innego serwisu, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na RateBeer. Nuty utlenienia, śliwka w czekoladzie z likierem, paloność. W smaku nieco wodnisty, dość wysoko nasycony, delikatnie metaliczny. Spodziewałem się więcej, ale mimo drobnych wad, jest naprawdę w porządku.

Keg at the Star and Garter, Bromley. Black pour with a tan head. Dark roast coffee, licorice, burnt toffee, treacle and dark chocolate aroma. Lots of dark roast coffee in the flavour plus woodsmoke, dark chocolate, licorice toffee and cocoa too. Light bitterness in the mouthfeel. Smoky dry finish. Very good.
