COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mikkeller’s original Raspberry Trippelbock is complimented by smooth caramel flavors imparted by the Bourbon barrel aging process. A sweet and fruity aroma of raspberries gives way to toffee and vanilla notes on the palate with a long and sweet brown sugar edge on the finish.

16.01.2018, 0,375l bottle @ home:
Nice slightly bubbly-creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet concentrated sour-ish fruity, sour raspberries, fruit stones, oak, bourbon, sour cherries, sorrel, berry skin, mild vinegar, soda powder, dark malts, old rope, hay, grass, bark. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish fruity, berry skin, sour raspberries, sorrel, mild bourbon, grass, oak, fruit stones, hay, minerals, dark malts, dried sour cherries, soda powder, bark. Medium bitterness, slightly dry sour-ish fruity mouthfeel. Nice one.

CloakedDagger (3008) - - NOV 28, 2017
Bottle 37,5 cl. Pours a clear, reddish brown with a small, lacing off-white head. Tart, berry-like aroma with a hint of Bourbon. Medium body, very tart berry notes and a distinct Bourbon edge. The base beer however seems to be pretty much annihilated - it could've been pretty much anything. The massive tartness cannot all be from the berries, clearly there's some barrel infection going on as well. Maybe it has developed later since the beer's description doesn't mention it at all. It kinda works since the Bourbon also mellows it quite a bit. But a very challenging beer. 281117

Sigmund (8103) - Tau, NORWAY - OCT 4, 2017
On tap at Mikkeller tap takeover, Cardinal. Nearly black colour, beige head. Aroma of malts, raspberries, brown bread, caramel, molasses. Ripe raspberries are very distinct in the fairly sweet flavour. Also caramel, molasses and oak. A bit too much of the good stuff.

dorain (750) - Berlin, GERMANY - JUN 5, 2017
Aus dem Fass in der Mikkeller Bar Berlin 2017-03 getrunken. Fette Himbeernoten treffen auf typische Bockbiernoten und eine ordentliche Portion Alkohol, der gefährlich anstrengend werden kann.
