UPDATED: NOV 28, 2012 1.5L bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Olutopas Pikkujoulu 2011) - shared by someone generous - thanks! (6:3:7:4:13=3.3)Benzai (16682) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - DEC 20, 2011
6 Super sweet mandarin peach and toffee aroma.
3 Sludgy, but we were at the bottom of the bottle, after many pours.
7 Exceptionally toffee-ey taste, lots of fleshy fruits too.
4 Full, sweet, sticky body. Again, not aided by being at the end of the bottle, but if Mikkeller think it’s a good idea to put beer in bottles this size, they’ve got to expect people to judge it after it’s been tipped up 20 times.
13 Don’t get me wrong, this may have been unclean to the eye, and stodgier on the tongue than what the guys who cracked it open for, but by no means was this unpleasant, it was very drinkable. Covered the alcohol well.
Rerate: 1.5L bottle (Drink Shop, Tallinn) (6:4:6:4:13=3.4)
From the top of the bottle this time - and it’s a lovely clear red. Apart from that difference, it’s mostly the same as before. Things related to teh slidginess are gone, and the toffee aspects too - this is drier. A real zingy bitter bite, but also smooth. Tasty - I like it, but it might be a little bit too agressive in places.
Sampled at OBER Kerstbierfestival Essen 2011. Cloudy hazy opaque dark orange color, small off-white head. Smell hops and light sweetness. Taste hops, bitter, lightly fruity. Good carbonation, medium body. brokensail (16645) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 9, 2012
The pour is orange in color with a white head. A strong citrus peel aroma, mostly candied orange. A mild spice note, some fruity esters such as pears and apples, and a hint of yeast. Quite a lot of candi sugar, brown sugar, and caramel, too. The flavor is decently sweet, but also has a hint of pine and citrus peel bitterness. Candied orange, brown sugar, and sweet caramel maltiness. Very mild ester notes and a hint of bread and yeast. Ferris (16495) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 14, 2012
Bottle - Malty and sweet with a hint of spruce. An orange lightly cloudy hue with large creamy off white head. Very sweet with a long lasting bitterness. Interesting but not something I would drink regularly.

150cl bottle @ Vinens Verden, Odense. Pours cloudy orange with a creamy white lasting head. Nose is fruity hoppy. Grapefruit, orange peel and a bit of wheat. Smooth and medium bodied. Lasting hoppy finish. Alcohol is very well hidden. bhensonb (15751) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 21, 2010
Magnum from Half Time. Pours hazy orange amber with a heavy foamy beige head. Lightly sour citrus aroma. Me. body; mild carb. Flavor is lightly sour, citrus, and rather decent De Proef funk that develops with a little time. Finishes smooth and Belgian. Wouldn’t have known this was Xmas ale. Good tasting ale. Magnum bottle at Cask and Kitchen, Pimlico. Pours a slighty cloud deep orange-amber colour with large foamy head. Nose; citrus hops, yeasty, pine, grass. Taste; soft mouthfeel, decent carbonation, tangy, tangerine, floral, grass, suprisingly light for a xmas beer, but very enjoyable. djd07 (15543) - Houston, Texas, USA - JAN 23, 2012
2010 bottle at Camp Beer IX. Pours a clear orange copper with smalll off white head. Hoppy floral and yeast aroma. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt with honey flavor. Hides the alcohol well, a very good Belgian wit from Mikkelller. Borup (15320) - Albertslund, DENMARK - DEC 21, 2013
Draught at Bishop Arms, Copenhagen. Hazy reddish orange colour with a white head. Aroma and flavour of oranges, spice, caramel, yeast and sour notes.
